Today whilst picking up a dog, I was met with a man with an unwanted opinion. "You walk other people's dogs? Why don't they walk them themselves? What's the point in having a dog?"

In the 5 and a half years I have been in business, I have come across so many different reasons for someone having their dogs walked. The majority of people who own a dog don't have a dog walker because "they can't be arsed" to walk their own dog. And if they did, at least they are doing the right thing by having a dog walker anyway!

A dog walker helps with physical & mental stimulation, keeping dogs happy & healthy. As well as giving owners peace of mind knowing that their dogs are out having fun whilst they are working etc. There are also a lot of people who don't "need" a dog walker (in this mans eyes anyway) but they have one because they see how much their dogs love going out, having fun with their pals going places they don't usually get to go.

It's not often I rant on here, but hearing how this person doesn't really believe that dog walking is a real job & that people shouldn't have dogs if they can't walk them themselves really bothered me. I also didn't ask for his opinion which annoyed me too 🤣

I guess the take away from this status is, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it. Dog owners who use pet services to enrich their dogs lives have their dogs best interests at heart ❤️
