We aim to breed ponies with good temperament and conformation from 30" to 34" We only breed 2 or 3 foals a year which will be very friendly when they leave and will be fully registered with the Shetland Pony Stud Book Soc.

A fallen tree and needing to drive through their field multiple times to remove it meant the ponies had to move into their summer field temporarily. Don’t think they were complaining lol
The tractor broke so they’ll have to stay there for a day or so. Hopefully it won’t be too long as the summer field won’t last them long at this time of year as the grass won’t keep up with them

We now just have 3 ponies. I had to make the hard decision to stop breeding for personal reasons. It has been a difficult summer saying goodbye to most of the ponies, but it has been lovely to see they have all gone to wonderful new homes. We are keeping Cornerways Blueberry (Boo) 18yrs, Cornerways Dancer 16yrs & Enigma Mystic (now gelded) 21yrs old. All now retired, happily settled as a group and my pets as I couldn’t be without any ponies ❤️

We fetched Tango & Tiptoe back onto the yard, but this time we fetched them one at a time without their mums! They were caught (easily), walked out off the field on their own and walked across alone, their mums were not too happy about this but both foals walked perfectly away, came onto the yard, had some corn and then walked steadily back, neither of them called back to their mums or messed about at all, they were both angels, we will ask more of them each time, but they are handling everything easily ❤️

We’ve had a willow tree start to fall over, so hubby cut a lot of it down, I’m dragging a branch across the field, Tango got so annoyed it wouldn’t keep still so she could get the leaves 😂😂 these foals are fearless lol

Well it was worth it it just for the comedy value! I’ve had shetlands for 21yrs. I’ve never used a fly mask on them and they seem to have coped. We only have 3 adults now (& 2 foals). The flies are horrendous at the moment. So I find 2 small fly masks on eBay, I only got to try the bigger of the 2, it was massive on Boo! She handled it well seeing as she’s never had one on before. She was border line freaking out but think she realised there weren’t any flies in it. So went back to grazing. Went to put the smaller one on Dancer, who had already freaked out at the sight of Boo turned into an Alien. I caught her, put a rope round her neck, hubby held her, when she saw the mask coming towards her she was up in the air and off with hubby in tow!! 😂😂 there was no way she was going to look like Boo 😂 we let her go. Took me bribing her with polos and doing a silly dance showing I’d got nothing but polos before she’d trust me I hadn’t got the mask anymore. I did have to take the first one back off Boo, before Dancer had a heart attack!
It was too big anyway, it would have come off if she’d shaken her head. The foals on the other hand thought it was a brilliant new toy! Tango put her head straight in lol. Tiptoe wouldn’t put her head in but was a 100% braver than her mum and was happy for it to be around her. Think I’ll just go back to the normal fly cream! 😂
