Longhill Lane is closed at the White Lion in Hankelow for about 2 weeks for electricity works. The diversion goes into Audlem, left out towards Woore and back down Longhill Lane from the other direction and takes a bit less than 10 minutes.

Keeping everyone warm this winter is a top priority. Hopefully it won't be needed but we've made a sizeable investment in a backup generator to keep our pets warm and the phones and internet working should we encounter any supply problems this winter.

The nature of our work means we can't close on Monday but we will be closing our reception at 10:30am so that our humans can can take some time to watch our Queen's funeral or reflect as they wish. We will re-open as usual at 3pm.

Many of our clients are understandably worried about their pets in the upcoming very hot weather. One or two hot days don't usually trouble our insulated buildings but, just like with our houses, heat does build up the longer hot weather continues. We've a raft of measures in place to keep our boarders as comfortable as possible over the next few days. Walking is greatly reduced and confined to the start and end of day. The paddling pool becomes more popular! Our tiled floors inside remain cool in hot weather. We've our own ice cube maker so that we are regularly topping up with chilled water. Every dog has a wet towel provided and their room has a fan. We've been making up more frozen treats. The cats have fans and their own cool mats to lie on. We also have reflective tarpaulins for any exposed areas. Lastly we have extremely regular checks so that if anyone should be struggling they can see a vet without delay.

Just a reminder that there may be fireworks over the Jubilee celebration weekend, so from Thursday to Sunday, you need to put support measures in place for your dogs - just in case.

Whatever you think about fireworks, they are a part of life and we have a responsibility to make sure our dogs are protected.

There is no need for any dog to suffer fear and distress through fireworks when there are things you can do to prevent it. And it's not too late, even this week.

Other than some odd spaces here and there during midweek the kennels are fully booked until the end of August.
Cattery spaces are running low too. It's good to be busy again after the last couple of years.

Road Closed.
Longhill Lane is closed at the White Lion in Hankelow. There doesn't appear to be any access for businesses. There is a diversion in place which is about a 3 mile detour.

We're gearing up for a busy summer and looking forward to welcoming furry friends old and new. In spite of the coming relaxation of the restrictions we have decided to stick with the procedures we've been working with these last 18 months. Full details are on our website https://www.santosha.co.uk/coronavirus but in brief it's appointment only, masks in reception, hand sanitiser and distanced pet handover outdoors. We are a small team trying hard to stay safe, if we have to isolate we'd have to reduce our capacity by cancelling bookings and letting people down. And nobody wants that!
