The dog wash is charged and readyβ
honestly, itβs more prepared for tomorrow
than I am.
The water tankβs filled too,
which feels like a small miracle
given my history with remembering things.
And the fields?
Theyβve given up entirely
and turned themselves into mud.
Two weeks ago: ground.
Now: a boot-stealing, slip-n-slide situation.
Four days away and somehow
the whole place transformed
like it got bored and chose chaos.
Still, everythingβs set,
everythingβs shifting,
and Iβm just here pretending
I planned it that way.

In March 1994, I was born into a family that had two sons and lived in the village of Crawley Down. My childhood was like most children, being brought up around a tight family unit which had a number of pets. This included our own ginger tabby Casper and our Bichon Frise Brandy.
βThis became my get away after my parents separated in 1999. My mum continued to bring up my two brothers and I, trying to make ends meet she worked as a nurse in the NHS. There were times I would be the first one home after school, the welcome I got from Brandy and Casper made everything worth while.
βIn 2004, my family relocated to the village of Copthorne. The following year I started secondary school, with a passion to work with animals. Friends and family were always asking what I want to do after school, after some research I decided I wanted to be a vet nurse.
βIn 2009, I was to decide what I wanted to do after secondary school. This is where I found Plumpton College and applied for a diploma in Animal Management. They offered me a place but this was dependant on my grades. I must add I struggled through school, as Dyslexia runs in the family. That year I worked extremally hard and achieved higher then my predicted grades. This meant in September 2010, I was able to start my extended diploma in Animal Management.
βThe summer of 2011, while working part time. Love came into my life, my proprieties changed. I didn't allow this to stop my current study and got one of the highest grades in the year group with triple distinction* along with a level two diploma in Canine behaviour and a level 1 diploma in Dog grooming (These were optional on the course). Now that my properties had changed, I didn't go on to university. Instead I started working in a nursery, which then led me on to support work.
βIn 2016 we had our daughter and 18 months later we had our son. I continued volunteering within Girlguiding through out the births of my children, and in 2017 started the planning of opening up a rainbow unit.
βIn July 2019, I went on a walk with a friend that was walking a dog. This is when I realised how much I missed being around animals. This lead on to the idea of Animal Ark, and I launched in August of 2019.
βI still work in the care sector, now as a night student support work. I support children and young people who have epilepsy, autism, and other life changing conditions. Along side this I continue to volunteer as a leader in Girlguiding, working with children aged 5 and above.
βMy dream is to create a busniess that provides help and support to pet owners in caring and enriching their pets. my main intrest is in dog training but this wont stop me looking after other pets.
