🎄 That’s a wrap for 2025!

All awards have now been handed out, and with that, we’re officially closed for Christmas week (although still getting dogs out for people that need extra help) We’ll be back on Monday 29th for private sessions.

Today has been a day of mixed emotions. There were some brilliant achievements, and there were also a few who didn’t quite pass this time. That’s never because a dog is “bad”. Sometimes life gets in the way, routines slip, and consistency becomes harder than we’d like. It happens to all of us.

I hope everyone has taken their feedback on board and feels ready to come back stronger next time. Every team has the potential to smash it with the right focus.

Being the one to say “not yet” is a part of the job I absolutely hate but you don’t pay me to tell you what you want to hear. You pay me to be honest, fair, and committed to your dog’s long‑term success.

I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone for the Christmas presents you’ve absolutely spoilt me this year. My tree is full, and it’s genuinely so appreciated. And thank you as well to those who donated to charities as I requested. That means more than you know.

Enjoy the break, recharge, and give your dogs an extra cuddle from me.
See you after Christmas đŸŽ„đŸŸ

🎉 Awards Day at Off‑Leash Obedience 🎉

Today marks Awards Day for all our incredible teams at Off‑Leash Obedience. No matter what results you receive, every single one of you should be proud. You’ve shown commitment, resilience, and a genuine desire to grow with your dogs and that’s what truly matters.

Today also brings us to the final five group classes of 2025. What a year it’s been. Thank you for turning up, putting in the work, and being part of such a supportive, joyful community.

We’ll be taking a short break over Christmas, and then we’ll be back in the new year, ready to welcome a whole new wave of dogs and handlers into the Off‑Leash family.

Enjoy the celebrations you’ve earned them.

📣 Mantrailing, Tracking & Agility – Join the Wait List

The last few weeks have been absolutely non‑stop with enquiries for mantrailing, tracking, and agility. I’m genuinely thrilled to see so many of you keen to get involved but I’ll be honest, I can no longer remember who asked for what!

We’re currently booked solid, but spots do occasionally open up, and I’m always working on adding new classes when possible. To keep everything fair and organised, I’ve now created an official wait list.

✅ As soon as a space becomes available
✅ Or when a new group launches

places will be offered down the list in order, so get your name on there quickly if you want a shot at the next opening.

If you’d like to be part of the next intake, pop your name down now. It’s the easiest way to make sure you don’t miss out.

Let’s get you and your dog on the right track — literally.

đŸ”„ Ember’s “Shortcut to the Sky” Masterclass and an Exciting Update for 2026 đŸ”„

Last night we pushed things further than usual, a bigger jump in height than we’d normally introduce at this stage but Ember handled it like an absolute pro.

The trail itself wasn’t easy either.
It wound between buildings, up side alleyways, and across large open car parks where scent loves to vanish. Exactly the kind of environment that tests a dog’s problem‑solving, not just their nose.

The plan was straightforward: an 800m trail ending with a missing person hiding two storeys up. A solid challenge
until the missing person misheard my briefing and decided to go really, REALLY high instead.

So off they went. Top floor. Maximum altitude. Basically the penthouse suite.

And Ember?
She picked up the scent, ignored the cross‑trail like it wasn’t even worth acknowledging, and took the fastest, most efficient route straight to them. Because in mantrailing it’s not about following the exact footsteps — it’s about finding the person as quickly as possible, no matter what the environment throws at you.

When she reached the building, she did exactly what we teach:
✅ Never climb stairs
✅ Stay safe
✅ Indicate up

A clean, beautiful sit and a laser‑focused look straight up at the top floor, as if to say:
“They’re up there. I’ve done my job. Your turn.”

I’m absolutely over the moon with her. This was a much bigger height jump than she’s ever practised — and she smashed it without hesitation.

🌟 800m trail nailed
🌟 Cross‑trail ignored
🌟 Complex environment conquered
🌟 Height challenge obliterated
🌟 Safety protocols followed perfectly

🚀 And looking ahead to the New Year

I’ll be adding another mantrailing group in 2026.

Why choose us?
Because we don’t just talk about trailing we show our dogs actually working.
Real trails. Real decisions. Real problem‑solving.
Dogs who know their job, trust their training, and work independently without being guided every step of the way.

Here’s to more progress, more learning and more Ember level brilliance.

Four dogs. Four trails. Four remarkable successes.

Yesterday’s team battled fierce winds. đŸŒŹïž
Tonight, a completely different group faced the challenge of mlre height and every single dog rose to it.

My Friday team has been training with me for some time, and their dedication shines through in every trail. We don’t stage photos or lead dogs we trust their judgement completely. That’s the essence of real trailing.

đŸ”„ Each dog tonight delivered something truly remarkable:
- Arya showed incredible focus under distraction.
- Ronnie thinks things through carefully
- Baloo powered through with unwavering confidence.
- And Ember capped the evening with an unforgettable indication of a missing person four stories up.

With immense pride, I can say all four dogs in tonight’s group have successfully completed Components Level 2.

đŸ“č Want to see Ember’s actual footage hitting the end of the trail? Comment below and I’ll share it with you.

đŸšȘđŸŸ Neighbourhood Watch: Feline Division đŸŸđŸšȘ

Our “kitten” has officially gone full dog. He now stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Karma in the doorway, watching over the close like they’re auditioning for Paw Patrol: Crawley Edition.

- 🏉 Tackles Karma like a rugby player in training.
- 🍖 Eats dog food like it’s his birthright.
- đŸšȘ Has mastered threshold manners — yes, the cat waits politely at doors now.

So if you spot him guarding the neighbourhood, don’t worry it’s just our cat living his best “dog life.”

Think your dog has good impulse control? Try trailing past a whole bag of chicken in 20mph winds
 đŸ”„

Tonight I gave my trailers the choice:
✅ Cancel due to the strong wind and heavy rain
or
✅ Gear up and brave the chaos

And of course
 they chose chaos. Absolute legends.

Luckily the rain held off, but the wind? That was another story. We were trailing through industrial estates with gusts hitting 20mph conditions that would make it impossible for new search dogs. The wind was howling, scent was flying sideways, and the environment was working against them at every turn.

But every single dog tonight stepped up.
Every. Single. One.

Their determination blew me away. At one point we even dropped an entire bag of chicken on the trail. A dog found it
 paused
and then CHOSE to ignore the free buffet because trailing was more rewarding.

That’s not just training — that’s heart.

Could your dog resist a free meal in a storm?

Massive well done to everyone tonight. You earned your hot chocolate, your warm showers, and your bragging rights. đŸ’ȘđŸŸđŸ”„

🎄 RIGHT, PAWS UP — I’ve got a Christmas confession. 🎄

I’ve just taken a look at which dogs have been with us the most this year
and let’s just say some of you have shown a level of financial commitment to your dogs that deserves its own standing ovation. In fact, you’ve invested in your four‑legged companions so generously that my bank manager is currently enjoying a Christmas party I’m fairly sure you indirectly sponsored.

And because Christmas is the season of giving and because loyalty like that deserves more than a polite nod and a biscuit I’m giving something back.

✹ In the New Year, I’ll be running a completely FREE Adventure Morning for the dogs who’ve trained, trailed, sniffed, and sprinted with us the most. A proper Off‑Leash style morning: enrichment, exploration, and the kind of fun that sends them home snoring before you’ve even hung your coat up.

Dates are being finalised, but it’ll be on a Friday morning in either January or February I’ll confirm as soon as everything’s locked in.

I won’t tell you how much you’ve spent on your dogs this year
but let’s just say if we had reward tiers, You' would be on the platinum level by now.

If your dog’s on the list, comment with a short paragraph why you use Off-Leash Obedience before Christmas Day to claim your spot that way we know you’re in.

Names will be listed below. If your dog’s on it, get ready for an epic start to 2026. If not we'd still love to hear what you think of the services we've offered in 2025.

Merry Christmas, you brilliant humans. Thanks for trusting me with your dogs it means the world. đŸŸđŸŽ…
