Dog walking isn’t a real job . . . I hear this all the time 🤔.

Like . . . sorry, but these dogs don’t walk themselves.

People imagine I’m out there:
• Skipping through fields
• Living a stress-free Disney montage life
• Casually strolling with perfectly-behaved angel dogs

Reality check:
• I’m power-walking through storms like a tiny, soggy superhero
• I can identify dog p**p like a forensic expert
• I hit 10,000 steps by accident every day
• I’ve negotiated with stubborn dogs like a hostage negotiator
• I'm refereeing zoomies like trying to control a tornado in a tutu . . . chaos, speed, and zero chance of a fair play!

Plus . . . I'm running a whole business . . . building trust with families who rely on me every single day

• Scheduling? Me
• Logistics? Me
• Accounting? Me
• Cameraman/videographer? Me
• IT problem solving? Me
• Marketing? Also me
• Snacks for the dogs? Definitely me.

So yeah, dog walking is a real job . . . a chaotic, hilarious, usually muddy job . . . but a real one and I wouldn't change a thing.

Shoutout to the dog walkers keeping it together with snacks, sarcasm and sheer willpower 🤣🐾♥️.

A heartfelt hello from your local dog walker!

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out as someone who took a leap of faith to start my own small, independent dog walking business in the Cramlington and surrounding areas.

Times are tough for so many of us, and beginning something new isn’t easy . . . but caring for dogs is what I love and I’m putting my whole heart into building this little business from the ground up.

If life has been a bit overwhelming lately, or you’re stretched thin with work, family or simply the pace of everyday life, I’d love to help lighten the load. Sometimes even knowing your dog is getting a good walk, fresh air, and some gentle company can make a world of difference.

So, this week I've had such a wonderful time walking with Wilson, a very distinguished older gentleman.

We didn’t cover many steps, but Wilson definitely savoured every single sniff along the way. Then when it rained (Wilson hates the rain) . . . what else was there to do but . . . tummy tickles 🥰🐾♥️!!!

Isn't Wilson adorable . . . please give him some love ♥️.

Ever wondered why your dog can’t see the ball?

It’s not because your pup isn’t paying attention . . . it’s because dogs see the world differently than we do!

Humans have three types of color receptors (cones) in our eyes . . . red, green and blue.

Dogs, on the other hand, only have two . . . blue and yellow.

That means your dog sees the world in shades of blue, yellow, and grey . . . but not red or green!

So when you throw a bright red ball (or Pink and green. . . sorry Angus, I'll get us a new ball 🥰) onto green grass . . .

● To you: “Wow, easy to spot!”
● To your dog: it just blends right in.

Try this instead: use a blue or yellow ball for fetch. Your dog will see it much more clearly . . . and your game will get a lot more fun!

It’s been one of those weeks . . . muddy walks, leaky wellies, happy faces and wagging tails from start to finish. Feeling so grateful for all my wonderful pups who make every soggy step worthwhile!

Now it’s time to put my feet up . . . have a wonderful weekend, everyone! 🥰🐾♥️

Fireworks can be frightening for our furry friends, so here are a few simple ways to help keep your pup calm and safe tonight:

Walk early . . . take your dog out before it gets dark and the fireworks start.

Keep them indoors . . . close windows, curtains, and doors to help block out loud noises and flashing lights.

Secure your garden . . . make sure fences and gates are closed and secure. Scared dogs can squeeze through small gaps or jump higher than usual when startled!

Create comfort . . . put on the TV or some calming music to help mask the sounds.

Check ID tags & microchips . . . make sure your details are up to date, just in case your dog gets frightened and runs off.

Stay calm . . . your dog looks to you for reassurance, so keep things relaxed and comforting.

Let’s make sure every pup feels safe, secure, and loved tonight. 🥰🐾♥️
