It’s completely safe to use on a puppy that still has its deciduous teeth...

Remember you are not actually trying to brush/clean the teeth correctly, all you are doing is introducing the Emmipet & then in the future by using correctly in the Ethical way to use it to get the Optimum results…

Just by gently holding the Emmipet around the dogs/ puppies face and body while speaking reassuringly to the pup will be such positive reinforcement

Also treats are great, I would always give treats to the dogs from my Dogi Deli there is nothing like bribing with natural treats 🤗

One of the exciting things for me is the fact using the Emmipet correctly we are looking at a generation of dogs that will never need an aneasthetic, not for their teeth anyway ….
I am already seeing this as I have been offering and educating about Emmipet since I pioneered this Toothbrush in 2016…..

I always only use a slither of toothpaste in puppies eg.. from approx 5-6 months….
Literally so they have tasted a very small amount ….

The company does advise waiting until they are over 6 months old…
I think people were using too much toothpaste and of course pups will just eat it….
So wait to use it properly it’s all about just having them relaxed & used to it by the time they are losing their deciduous teeth..

Do dogs have the same number of teeth as we do?
And do they lose their puppy teeth just like we lose our baby teeth?
Here’s a breakdown of how many teeth dogs have as puppies and adults, and whether it’s normal for dogs to lose their teeth.

How Many Teeth Do Dogs Have?

In total, dogs have more teeth than we do
(humans have 32 teeth).

Cleaning back teeth ❤️...

There is a way to clean the back teeth that keeps the dog happy and it’s much more manageable for you to do...

If you try to Hold the dogs mouth open to clean the back teeth it will be uncomfortable for the dog and you just won’t be able to manage it....

That’s why I always say start with a canine teeth anyway to clean
and get the dog used to it at the front before you even attempt the back..

After making a fuss of the dog so he’s quite happy ..
I will take the brush and gently Lift the top of his mouth muzzle and then slide gently in His mouth before he realises what I’ve done...

With my left hand I hold four fingers underneath his chin and my thumb on top of his nose gently stroking him all the time the top of his nose and literally his chin is almost resting on my 4 fingers...

I’m not holding the mouth shut tightly or anything like that it’s open slightly....
literally just so he’s resting his chin and I can keep control of it

I hold a toothbrush on the back once the dog is happy and I’ve got it in there I tend to hold it longer because bearing in mind the dogs do salivate more when you’re cleaning the back teeth ....
so added with the water and the toothpaste you have a good conductor there.

I will hold it on one of the back teeth normally at the top for approximately 30 seconds and then move it down and sideways ...
so that once I’ve got it in there if he was not over impressed to begin with I might as well leave it there for a longer period of time ...

Do take note though
obviously you cannot see where athe brushes are but you can feel
it’s really important though to make sure that you’re not holding it on the gums for that length of time...

I continue by chatting to the dog so that he is happy removing the brush cleaning in the water bowl adding more toothpaste and going back and doing the same thing again

The more relaxed the dog is they will start to open their mouth slightly and Pant ....
only a tiny bit this does then make it easier for you to see the teeth while you are cleaning them...

Do you treats & rewards when you’re doing this ...
make lots of fuss of the dog ...
I talk to them obviously to keep them relaxed and happy ...
and I have never had a problem cleaning the teeth like this ..
