How Many Teeth Do Puppies Have?

Puppies are born without teeth; because they’re feeding on their mother’s milk, they don’t need them! But even though they’re initially toothless, their baby teeth and adult teeth are already developing within their jaws at birth.

The baby (deciduous) teeth start erupting when puppies are around 3 weeks old.
This is also when puppies can start eating solid food in addition to nursing.

The incisors (the little teeth in the front of the mouth) and canines (the bigger “fang” teeth) erupt first.
The premolars—the teeth used for chewing—follow.
Puppies continue to erupt teeth over the next three to five weeks until they’re about 6–8 weeks old, when their mouth is filled with 28 pearly white baby teeth.

& you will prevent problems before they start..🤗

It’s completely safe to use on a puppy that still has its deciduous teeth...

Remember you are not actually trying to brush/clean the teeth correctly, all you are doing is introducing the Emmipet & then in the future by using correctly in the Ethical way to use it to get the Optimum results…

Just by gently holding the Emmipet around the dogs/ puppies face and body while speaking reassuringly to the pup will be such positive reinforcement

Also treats are great, I would always give treats to the dogs from my Dogi Deli there is nothing like bribing with natural treats 🤗

One of the exciting things for me is the fact using the Emmipet correctly we are looking at a generation of dogs that will never need an aneasthetic, not for their teeth anyway ….
I am already seeing this as I have been offering and educating about Emmipet since I pioneered this Toothbrush in 2016…..

I always only use a slither of toothpaste in puppies eg.. from approx 5-6 months….
Literally so they have tasted a very small amount ….

The company does advise waiting until they are over 6 months old…
I think people were using too much toothpaste and of course pups will just eat it….
So wait to use it properly it’s all about just having them relaxed & used to it by the time they are losing their deciduous teeth..

Should I be squeezing the toothpaste inside the bristles as I’ve heard some people do ?

No there is no point in squeezing the toothpaste down into the bristles, the only thing this will lead you to do really is wasting toothpaste …..
If it’s pushed down it will disperse from all angles and not where you want it to be….
The easiest way is to squeeze some toothpaste on to a dish and then scoop up what you need ….
No one should be squeezing it out on the the brush really, unlike when we brush are teeth you do not need a long cylindrical piece of toothpaste on the toothbrush, this just leads to the dog trying to eat it and also toothpaste going everywhere…..
You will be wasting your money…
Like I said squeeze a small amount ( you can always add to it)
Then scoop up some you have approximately 2mm on the brush that’s all you need….
