Riding school closure .

Due to the forthcoming retirement from horses by the owner the decision has been taken to begin winding the business and
melville equestrian will
No longer offer riding lessons after the end of september .

the decision to withdraw riding lessons as part of our services will impact many of our customers and visitors.
And we Thank you all for the amazing support from our customers who have used our services and been part of our yard family for over a decade and helped us to achieve our huge popularity and humbling success.
Achieved by thousand of hours of hard work 'determination and imagination by an army of staff' helpers ' volunteers and fellow horse mad individuals.

After over 20 years of family horse ownership I have decided to slow down and concentrate more on other aspects of seperate business ventures which require me to free up more of my time and energy and travel more.

Over the coming months I will be dispersing with a lot of surplus equestrian equipment which includes horse trailers '
Carriages' tack 'saddles 'ect watch this page or my private page (Alan melville ) for more details.

some of our soon to be redundant riding school horses will also be moving home .

Any of our new or existing customers who wish to continue with riding lessons after september should contact our recommended local council licenced riding schools.

We're very proud of our helpers past present and future .

If your kids are obsessed with horses and you want to deter them send them to us
We promise to work them like dogs mucking out stables in all weather's ' push heavy horse p**p filled wheel barrows up hills ' fill hay nets till they cry and have blisters ' make them walk miles everyday bringing in ' turning out horses and leading ponies in lessons and out at gala days parties and events ' grooming and scrubbing horses till they shine ...cleaning tack' sweeping the yard ' carrying heavy buckets of water ' moving and rolling hay bales in hail ' rain and hurricanes ...and shout at them when they slack or cry...and at the end of it all we will send them home to you tired ' dirty and starving
And do the same to them everyday until they quit.

But for the stubborn ones who we cant break and who refuse to give up and only after they pass all the tests and trials of looking after horses and realise horses are 90% work and 10% actual riding we will take them under our wing and allow them to ride our horses and become part of our yard family because by then they have gained knowledge money cant buy... a work ethic ' how to work and communicate as part of a team and understand horses and animal care in general is extremelly hard work.
Working and dealing with others can be stressful and challenging and the reality that The boss is not thier parent or school teacher and takes no nonsense or attitude they might get away with at home and his tongue is lethal and no one is going to save then from his wrath if they screw up or fail to listen to his rules or instructions.

But Among all the hard work and misery there is some little "perks " like spending time grooming and riding the horses ' meeting up with friends in our own little community ' outings to shows' events and social gathering ' trips out 'staying over at the yard for sleepovers with fellow inflickted horse infatuated friends .

Enjoying being outdoors with lots of different animals ....and finally finding that place where you fit in are accepted and welcomed.
A place You can Feel save and you can be yourself and will always be protected and nurtured by those around and watching over you .
At melville equestrian we built charector
We fine tune fifes young future equestrians and we w**d out pony patters from the dedicated Horsey girls and we create mature strong individuals....thier certificate of achievement is lessons in hard work' survival' discipline and dedication...ready one day to own thier own horse or just survive in a tough world more confident 'self assured and self dependant on thier own abilities .....it might all be about horses but its not all about horses.
