“Don’t ever say no to your dog.
Because it hurts their feelings”
This is advice being given out everyday to dog owners!

I mean it completely f*cks up their life and your own mental health.
It’s dangerous and means they’re out of control and in a painful mindset filled with angst and fear and confusion!
It means they live a reduced standard of life and never meet their potential.
It puts them at risk of biting and attacking humans and being put to sleep.

But saying no is cruel 🙄

Below is Ash who came to see me yesterday and this is his face after an hour of putting in boundaries and rules and both Frog and me saying No a few times! This is the stress gone from his face and the relaxed goofy Doberman revealed shining through!
An hour to start undoing 4 years of letting him do whatever he pleases! And he’s much happier already!

We have all the knowledge, damn good timing & discipline (keeping OURSELVES in check to reach the goal) on our side 👌🏻

You can bring all of your excuses to class or you can own it & admit what you’re doing differently 👀

But you can’t move forward if you’re stuck in denial 🤷🏻‍♀️

My dogs are well mannered members of society, this enables them to safely live their best life’s! There’s absolutely nothing I love more in this world than watching my dogs enjoy life. It’s all about balance! If you instil the fundamentals first, you & your dog(s) will reap the rewards 🥰

Today we started tackling some reactivity which can vary in severity depending on the situation. She is a really sweet girl with great food drive! It didn’t take long to get her walking by both of my dogs without any reactions (Peep Frank in the background getting all the fusses 🤣❤️)

Today I met with this super handsome Corso called Vader! He’s a really sweet boy but a big lump & knows how to use his body weight, especially when he wants to get somewhere! 😅

Teaching Cora & Sophie how to lure!!! 😍

Something people fall into the trap of is “my puppy knows how to sit/down/paw etc” then suddenly they get older & it all falls apart. Although it may seem cute at the time, obedience really isn’t important at this age. Building confidence & implementing foundations should always be the priority! Have fun with your puppies & don’t wait for an issue to arise before you start training 🫶🏻

Not to say there aren't Certified Trainers doing great work, just make sure you're Vetting your trainer properly because a bad trainer can ruin a good dog and that's a lot harder to come back from.
