Our lovely Rhinoceros Russel is a favorite at our zoo, so here's a few fun and interesting facts about Rhino's!

1. There are 5 different species of rhino's
2. Rhino's can grow over 6 feet tall and up to 11 feet in length
3. Rhino's have small brains
4. Rhino's horns are made from a protein called keratin - the same protein that human nails are made from
5. A Rhino's pregnancy lasts between 15 and 16 months

If you haven't already booked your place in our exciting treasure hunt, then do it now as it is taking place THIS Saturday!! Tickets are quickly running out due to high demand and we don't want any children missing out on this fantastic and fun family day out! As a quick reminder, I'll rewrite the post again!

For children aged 3-16, find all the pieces to complete Eloise the Llama and the first child to complete their Llama wins three tickets to see the newly reunited band Busted perform in Glasgow! All participants will also receive a lunchbox from Mrs Noah's yummy café and a tour around the zoo meeting all our fun and friendly animals.

Some facts about llamas you may not have known;

1. The fibres of llamas are fireproof - very reassuring as Eloise is rather clumsy!!
2. The ears of llamas are banana shaped, long and curved inwards
3. Most animals bite when agitated, but not llamas, they spit!! Very classy.
4. Llama's can be extremely grumpy and stubborn, if they don't want to do something they will lie on the ground and kick and spit. Eloise often acts like this if she feels her grass isn't green enough- what a diva!
5. Llama's are often categorized with dogs due to their trustworthiness

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and our grumpy gorilla is in the need of some Christmas spirit!
