Rodney update.

His surgery went extremely well and he’s back home now trying to come round from the anaesthetic.
The operation was performed by a top surgeon with the RCVS and Rodney does not have to reattend for a check up but foster to send photos of the healing leg in 3 & 10 days time.

Meet gorgeous George our six year intact gentleman looking for his forever sofa.
George is a very handsome young man who is looking for his new forever sofa.
He is a typical EBT loves everyone and is excitable when he meets people, he would literally go to anyone!

🐾He loves dogs and wants to go and play with them, he plays well off leash with fellow EBTs, his recall isn’t 100% so not to be fully trusted off leash.
🐾George loves to play with his kong balls and requires heavy duty toys but he has never chewed anything or been destructive.
🐾He has seen cats and has been inquisitive but like any EBT better to be safe and would prefer a home without small furries.
🐾George loves his walks even though he doesn’t always want to walk far!
🐾He enjoys cuddles and loves to play.

👍🏻Would be better in a home with older or no children.
✅ Would be better as an only dog in the home
⚠️He was some years ago “growly” with one young child in the home, but no aggression, after a possible incident that may have occurred and caused George to take a slight dislike to said child.
👍🏻He has been friendly with other children since though.

❤️Ideal home would be one where he can spend quality amounts of time with his humans and have daily walks or play time in the garden, with plenty of evening cuddles on the sofa

Rodney — a sweet 3-year-old boy who was surrendered to Universal in October 2025 after facing more than any dog should ever have to endure. Since then, he has been patiently waiting in foster care for a chance at the happy life he truly deserves.

Before coming into rescue, Rodney suffered a fractured tibia and fibula in his left back leg and had to undergo surgery in 2024 to have a pin fitted by Celia Hammond Trust.
Despite everything he has been through, Rodney continues to show nothing but love, courage, and resilience every single day.

He has repeatedly got infections in his leg which result in ongoing trips to the vets and courses of antibiotics.
Our vet recommended the pin to be removed and we contacted Celia Hammond, sent vet referral and X-rays and have been on a waiting list for many months now as Celia Hammond only has one vet that can perform this kind of surgery.

To cut a long story short Universal have decided to get our vets to remove the pin and we are now raising funds to help cover the procedure which is taking place on Monday.
He will then need crate rest and aftercare but the great news is we have an adopter waiting very patiently for Rodney.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help Rodney on his journey toward healing and happiness.

Universal Hugo is finally home and looking good bless him.

Thank you immensely to all of you that have donated to Hugo’s fundraising.

I have attached a copy of the final bill of £1705.01 of which we have raised so far £1250.00, including Michelle Southworth’s gofundme, so we still need to raise the balance of £455.01 and they want to test his kidneys next week at a further £380 ( see estimate attached ) so total to raise is £835.01

Universal Hugo update

The vets advised he’s doing well and seems a bit brighter. He’s now eaten a full proper meal, which is really positive. He’s still on fluids and all his meds, and they’re going to add probiotics to help with some diarrhoea they are expecting.
Overall, he’s stable and they have no concerns at the moment, which is reassuring so it’s looking up!
Here he is having a cuddles with his foster Mum and Dad.

The vets bill so far is £1368.

Universal Hugo, our amazing senior gentleman aged 10 and in long term foster, has been admitted to the vets today and kept in overnight for monitoring.
The vet has quoted £1500 just to keep him monitored.
They believe he has a water infection and possibly kidney disease and his dog Mother Michelle Southworth, has kindly started a GoFundMe for the lovely Hugo and to help Universal with his medical costs.
