Did you know following isn’t necessarily a sign of separation anxiety?!

A landmark study found that 𝟲𝟱% of dogs without separation anxiety routinely followed their guardians around the house!

But, you're probably here because your dog does have separation anxiety and it’s so tough when they are anxious about you leaving.

From scratching at the door to symptoms as severe as self-injury caused by trying to escape. These behaviours are sadly very common in spaniels separation anxiety.

How true is this.

I'm sure you've received well meaning advice if you have a spaniel experiencing separation anxiety

And to the untrained eye the solution might seem simple.

But when you know more about the issue suddenly a lot of that advice is not so helpful and can even be harmful.

If you've ever been told to let them cry it, put them in crate, make sure you leave them after a long walk or just to give them a kibble toy you'll know these 'solutions' don't fix anything.

But it is possible to help your spaniel feel better.

The more we learn about complex issues, the more we realize how much there is to know… and how much we don’t know.

💚 It’s Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Mental health issues touch so many lives, and campaigns like this are vital for raising awareness.

It is heartening to see so many personal experiences being shared online. It's a reminder to us all, that behind every screen is a real person navigating their own challenges.

For spaniel guardians dealing with separation anxiety, the daily routine can be incredibly isolating and stressful. Caring for a dog who is struggling takes a lot of emotional energy.

When things feel overwhelming for me, I find that a quiet cuddle with my girl Min, a long walk, or just being near the ocean helps reset my mind.

Finding tiny pockets of peace is so important.

If you ever feel overwhlemed, please remember to give yourself some grace. Your well-being matters and you're doing a wonderful job.

It’s Exercise Month at CAM! 🐾

When we think of ‘exercise’, we often think of long runs or games of fetch. But for many dogs, especially those managing arthritis or mobility issues, quality of movement is far more important than quantity of miles.

That’s why for this month’s challenge, we’re going on a Sniffari. 👃🌳

A Sniffari is a walk where your dog is the navigator (when safety allows). By allowing them to stop, linger, and process the scents around them, you are giving them a high-intensity cognitive workout that lowers their heart rate and reduces stress.
