Hello 👋🏻

Just a quick message now January exams are done 😮‍💨 I’m slowly catching up with messages from over the Christmas period.

Unfortunately, last-minute cancellations have been happening more and more, so I need to clarify my cancellation policy going forward. Dog boarding is my source of income, and when a booking is confirmed, that space is reserved exclusively for your dog - often months in advance. I also plan my personal life and commitments around these bookings. Cancellations made within one month of the start date can rarely be filled, meaning another client has missed out and I incur a loss of income. I’ve always preferred to work on trust with my clients, but I can no longer absorb the impact of late cancellations. For this reason, any cancellation made within one month of the booking start date will incur a fee of 50% of the total holiday cost.

Happy Half Term 🍂

Floyd and his roomies for the week were certainly excited to be back at the field this morning 💨

Just a few admin bits. I should have posted all the keys now (apologies for the delay, blame the big orange thing in the background). I do still have some left over - possibly old ones & even ones from Gill but I’ll keep them safe and feel free to message if you think I have it 🙏🏼

My diary for next year is open. As usual peak times get booked up fast so try not to leave it last min as I do like to fit everyone in ☺️

In conclusion, this study shows that the risk of cranial cruciate ligament disease in dogs is linked to how long they are exposed to natural s*x hormones, and the relationship isn’t simple or linear. The highest risk was seen when females were spayed before about 1054 days (just under 3 years) and males before about 805 days (a little over 2 years). These results may help define what counts as “early” spay or neuter when it comes to cranial cruciate ligament disease risk.

Veterinary reproduction specialists now recommend hormone-preserving sterilization: preventing unwanted litters & less risk of torn cruciates.
