Keep your pets safe this Easter

Chocolate contains a stimulant called theobromine (a bit like caffeine) that is poisonous to dogs.

Theobromide mainly affects the heart, central nervous system and kidneys. Symptoms will occur from 4-24 hours after your dog has eaten chocolate.

If your dog has eaten chocolate, you may see:

Vomiting (may include blood)
Diarrhoea
Restlessness and hyperactivity
Rapid breathing
Muscle tension, incoordination
Increased heart rate
Seizures
IF YOUR DOG EATS CHOCOLATE TAKE THEM STRAIGHT TO YOUR VET .

Parklands Dungannon case of the week. This is Charlie, last Tuesday he was admitted to our clinic as he was very sick. Radiographs revealed a large stone obstructing his small intestine. Charlie underwent emergency surgery to remove the stone. He is now happily recovering at home with his owner and his appetite is well and truly back to normal. We wish him a fast recovery. 😃

Just a little reminder to you all as Mother's Day approaches.... Although some of your gifts are lovely they can also be very harmful to your pet. Please be aware of the dangers of some of these beautiful flowers before bringing them into your household! If you have any concerns please one of our clincs. :)

This is Ruddy, a Caucasian shepherd who was in with us for her first vaccination today..... isn't she adorable! Can't wait to see how big she has got when she is in for her second vaccination in 3 weeks. Have a look online and see how big she's going to grow. 😃
