“The great thing about the team at Prickly Peach is how they've become an extension of ours. They’re dependable, responsive, adapt quickly to change and deliver great value production, every time”.
Some seriously feel-good feedback from Thrive Creative Ltd (thank you!). We had the pleasure of working with them on a series of case studies for their campaign with Cheshire East Council, spotlighting the real impact of the Repurposing Our High Street scheme.
We captured stories from local business owners in Crewe who’ve transformed vacant high street units into vibrant spaces.
Students don't want to go to a college that looks boring. They want to go to a college that looks exciting, relevant and 'with it'. That was the aim, this is the outcome.
We produced these videos on behalf of Ellodave for their client, Coventry College, and loved every minute.
Read our case study, which breaks down the style choices that inspired their video content going forward.

It's been a while. We've been shooting, editing, growing, and undergoing a full rebrand, courtesy of our friends over at Solt Creative.
Our work has evolved a lot over the past few years. Bigger projects, better output, bolder ideas, so it made sense for our branding to grow with us.
New look, same big ideas. Nice to see you again!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Emily to our team for a week of work experience. (Yes, having two Emilys in the office did cause a bit of confusion at first!)
In just one week, Emily:
✔️ Shot on the Ronin with the Sony A7Siii
✔️ Timecoded B-roll and voiceovers for multiple client projects
✔️ Handled product photography, including shooting and editing
✔️ Contributed to pre-production for an upcoming content shoot
✔️ Created a storyboard and mood board for her own short film concept
We were really impressed with how much Emily accomplished in such a short time and wish her the best of luck with her short film plans!

6 whole trips around the sun and we still feel like the party is only just getting started.
We do get a bit soppy on our birthdays so we’ll keep it short. We feel so nostalgic at this time of the year and it reminds us of why we started Prickly Peach; To make videos we’re proud of, work with honest and driven people, and be bloody happy. So you know what, we’ve not gone a miss. Happy 6th Birthday to us!🥂

Back at YZ Systems for another round of Instrument of the Month filming. It's been so good to see more of the team step in front of the camera, and fair play to everyone - they were brilliant. Of course, we had Luke there to offer his expert advice on presenting!

A Friday treat after a production-heavy few weeks.
We're very lucky to be spoilt for choice for nice lunch spots in Congleton, and it's great to support a Totally Locally business! More on that soon 👀

We’re featured on Forbes!
Thank you Mark Littler & Forbes for the write-up. Very cool to be featured alongside Jennifer Robertson from Spey and Moa Reynolds aka The Swedish Whisky Girl, talking about how female creatives are influencing the way whisky is experienced through the content we create.
Running a video production agency isn’t always exciting shoots and edits. There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes, no pun intended.
Our work week is 80% project work, 20% business development. It might seem a bit overkill, but it’s proven to be a vital structure to our growth. It also keeps us on the same page, as although we’re basically telepathic at this point, it’s still good to talk through our personal weekly journeys with each other.

When approaching a video brief, a few key decisions can quickly establish the style from the get-go.
A few of our first thoughts include things like:
· Camera setup: Handheld, tripod or gimbal?
· Piece to camera: Addressing the interviewer or the lens?
· B-roll Frames per second capture: 25fps, 50fps, or 100fps?
But how do you know which to choose?
Here’s a breakdown of our thought process, led by the target audience being primarily school leavers, and the secondary audience, their parents.
Camera Setup:
Going with a handheld camera setup gives the audience that authentic, POV feel. The video needed to feel exciting, engaging, and make the viewer feel as though they’re ‘in amongst the action’, for a taste of what it’s like to join the college. That's why we opted for handheld. Then there's the classic choice of the tripod for the interviews.
Piece to Camera:
15-16-year-olds are more than likely watching a lot of TikTok & Reels content, where creators are usually addressing the camera straight on. So, a similar interview format felt appropriate (especially as the video was also being delivered in reel format).
B-roll Frames per Second:
25fps (normal speed) enhances the handheld camera effect of feeling present in each scene. But the video still needed breaking up with slow motion to pick out the emotion in parts and give the audience a chance to digest certain key messages.
Working with Ellodave creative agency on delivering this project for their client Coventry College has been really rewarding. We love working with agencies as they provide clear direction and strategy for their clients’ campaigns, allowing us to really get stuck in with crafting a well-considered approach to the content.

Sometimes you’ll find us listening to Classic FM in the office but this has taken listening to classical at work to a new level.
What an honor to be working with The Symphonia Verbum Orchestra to record such a beautiful piece of music! Here's a few stills from the video.

This week we were up in Scotland with YZ Systems, and it will come as no surprise that we were up against the elements. Here’s Luke trying to power through his piece to camera, whilst battling gale-force winds, just minutes after filming his introduction in the pouring rain.
In spite of the bad weather, spirits were high from the YZ and Gilkes teams. Hats off to them for installing the Aircom in such challenging conditions (p.s this blooper doesn’t do the rest of the day’s weather justice!).

Founded by two friends, Emily and Lauren, Prickly Peach Films was created in 2018. Specialising in promotional content, we create social media content, event films, online courses, commercial and corporate films, and music videos.
Behind the prickles
We met on our first day of university and fast-forwarding three years, both graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Advertising, Film and Music Video Production at Staffordshire University. And after completing uni, our lifelong passion for film just wouldn’t let us separate.
But! We’re not clones - we’ve got our own unique qualities and skillsets, and we thrive in our own spaces of the business, which means we get to learn from each other every day.
What we do best
We strive to get the voices of hardworking and talented people heard, loud and clear. It’s really that simple - we want to show everyone what you’ve got in the best way, the way that’s most you. There’s no one who runs your business, puts on your events or plays your music, quite like you. And there’s no one who can tell your story quite like us.
All about the peach
You know when something just feels right? Well, that’s the name Prickly Peach Films for us. Our brand is really an extension of us as creatives and more importantly, just people! We wanted something that felt true to us, no straight lines or block colours. Just the freedom to wiggle and adapt as the times change.
Each and every day we remind ourselves to live up to our name, no matter which one of us is being prickly or peachy. And what we really mean by that is:
peachy
/ˈpiːtʃi/
To be our bubbly, creative and happy selves in all that we do.
prickly
/ˈprɪkli/
Keeping it unpredictable, unique and super exciting with our films and ideas.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know us, now why not get in touch so we can get to know you!
