Important Announcement: Changes to Somerford Park Premier League Dressage
It is with regret that Somerford Park will no longer be hosting the Premier League Dressage or High Profile going forward. This difficult decision has been made in response to evolving competition trends and financial challenges affecting the viability of competitions in the horse world.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all sponsors, (especially Baileys Horse Feeds and Bliss of London Saddlemakers) competitors, supporters, judges, and volunteers for your dedication and support over the years. Your involvement has been vital to the success of the event.
Millie would like to personally acknowledge a few key individuals, though we apologize for not being able to name everyone individually:
• Julian Sebire: I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Julian, who was instrumental in launching the show up at the main farm yard. Over the years, we've experienced remarkable horses, including the memorable debut of Valegro as a 4-year-old. Since I took over the organization nine years ago, the insider knowledge and advice from Julian and Stephen has been invaluable. Their support in organizing judges, entertainment, meals, or simply being an (often panicked!) phone call away has been crucial, allowing me to work alongside them throughout this time.
• Sarah Rodger: Sarah took on the monumental task of organizing, counting, and managing nearly 2,000 dressage test sheets, all while judging during the show. Her dedication saved me countless hours and mental energy—thank you!
• Sarah Irving: The Hospitality Queen….Sarah’s tireless efforts, often clocking THOUSANDS of steps over the weekend, ensured that volunteers and guests were well taken care of. From delivering food, hosting in the sponsor’s marquee, filling drinks, and catering to every need, she was my right-hand woman for prizegivings, my tannoy on feet! Sarah, I truly couldn’t have done it without you—thank you for your unwavering support.
Once again, thank you all for being a part of this special journey over the years. We look forward to seeing you at Somerford in the future.
