Have to share newbie “Daphne” the welsh terrier, with the biggest head tilt this century. Daphne follows Lola the much missed fox terrier. Her owners were so heart broken that they found Daphne, who is an ex breeding female who was up for rehoming, she had taken Lola’s appointments and the next one fell exactly where she would be due for grooming! 🥹 I can’t believe what an absolute dream she has been to groom this afternoon. Daphne is a clipped terrier so a-bit easier on the hand. Apologies to my hand-strips 🥹 my hand just isn’t ready, however I did do a left handed strip on Monday 😬 not the best but it definitely lightened his load in the weather. Few weeks more and I hope it won’t be so crampy. X

Hello everyone 👋

I’m back to work as of today! My hand and finger are still a little raw in places, but they’re wrapped up and I’m able to groom again. Hand stripping may still be difficult due to the repetitive nature of the work, so I won’t be taking on any more hand-stripping appointments going forward.

There have been more pet losses over the last few months 🥹 due to sickness and old age. My heart goes out to all my much-loved pets and their wonderful owners — I feel every single one.

Going forward, I’ve decided to take this opportunity to start scaling things back, as my condition will be degenerative. I’ll continue to groom the few good-natured cats I care for, but I won’t be adding to my workload. Next year, I plan to reduce things further.

On a brighter note, my finger has much better movement now, and I’m really happy with the results from this last round of treatment.

Thank you so much for your kind messages, support, and patience. I’m so sorry to anyone who has been affected by my absence or limited availability. If you’re still waiting for a message from me and haven’t heard back, please feel free to give me a nudge on WhatsApp — I’m working my way through everything and don’t want to miss anyone.

Quick operation update.🚨🚨🚨

I had my bandage off today. 2 lots of cuts to my affected finger and into my hand. It’s not completely healed. They advised at least 10 days but I hope it will be sooner. I’ve contacted everyone for next week’s appointments, so check your messages when you can x I will see what it’s like by mid/end next week. It is sore, but healing up. Still mostly wrapped up. I can move my hand, just not very well. They have removed a lot more nasty hairs from my finger this time, so I will need to be really careful moving forward (hazard of the job) and done the tendon repair. So sorry to let people down again.

Urgent ‼️ message

I have been to see the consultant today, and unfortunately they want to do another operation. Hopefully this may improve the mobility of my hand once and for all. 🤞. The operation has been scheduled for 2nd June. I will be off for about 2 weeks as the incision will be larger than last time. I do apologize for this but they have offered to have this done sooner than I expected, considering the current waiting time for surgery’s etc. It will be again a case that those who are in will have to miss one appointment. I will send an individual message to those affected. Again a massive income blow but I need to get it sorted. I thank you all for your patience. I will be adding details of other groomers that may help you on my internal email. 📧 again I apologize to all those affected. If I can bring some forward I will try.
