This beautiful girl was reacting to both people and dogs before they completed my 10 week reactivity program.
Here she is around people and dogs with no reaction. #dogtraining #hardworkdedication #lovethisdog #reactivitytraining #frenchbulldog #lovemyjob #happydog #dogtrainingbristol #dogtrainingbath #livinglifetothefullest
Why has my dogs reactivity become worse???
If your dog’s behaviour has become worse or you notice them suddenly showing more sensitivity to noises then it may be an indication that they are in pain.
Love my job!! 🐶
Just finished a session with this beautiful girl. This poor girl has not been on a walk since December, she was petrified when leaving the front of the house, she would try to go back home. This was our first session. 🐶🐾😃
Check out this little beauty. 🐶
When we started she was lunging, barking and snapping at other dogs and lunging and barking at people.
This was her first time on the beach, she did so well no barking or reacting to people at all and very little reactions to other dogs.
I took the lead first to help calm her and lower her frustration and over arousal.
She loved playing tug and hunting for treats.
She then calmed and mum took over.
Mum did a great job and so did this gorgeous girl.
Well done Jo you aced it. 🐶❤️👍

Courses starting in April!!!
Grab your spaces now before they all GO!!!
So proud of these guys.
🎉🎉Wow check these guys out 🎉🎉
When they started the 10-week program the dogs were reacting at 100m away from another dog.
In our final session, these guys met for the first time and were less than a metre away from each other, working calmly with their owner.
Both dogs have learnt that their owner has complete control and will support her when other dogs are around.
Well done, guys, you absolutely smashed it. 🍾👏

Try teaching an attention cue rather than a non reward marker.
Using a Attention cue is a great way of interrupting an unwanted behaviour without making the dog anxious.
This little beauty has now learnt that when I hear a kissy noise something good follows ie food.
Previously, using a non-reward marker (like ahh ahh or no) created anxiety and confusion for her because she didn’t understand its meaning—it only signaled that mom or dad was cross.
Using an attention cue such as a kissy noise still stops the unwanted behavior by interrupting it, but in a calm and clear manner, without using a non-reward marker like “Ahh Ah.”
You don’t need to scare or dominate your dog to stop unwanted behaviors. Instead, focus on being clear, calm, and consistent. Create positive associations and add value to the behaviors you want your dog to exhibit. By reinforcing desirable actions, you encourage your dog to make better choices without fear or stress. 🐶🐾👍
This gorgeous girl was scared of dogs and nervous of people.
This poor girl was asleep in a cafe and a dog ran over and started attacking her.
This lead to her being afraid of dogs and on high alert. She is a very timid girl that was either lunging and barking to drive the dog or person off, or she would cower with a tucked tail and hide.
Here she is learning that dogs are of no concern of hers and that mum and dad will support you. She is starting to grow in confidence and enjoy exploring on her walks. 🐶❤️🐾
Building connection on your walks
Tips on how to build a stronger connection with your dogs when out on a walk!🐶🐾
If you need to do the shopping leave your dogs at home.
Poor dog tied up outside Tescos in lots of distress.
Leave your dogs at home rather than tie them up outside a shop.
Your dogs will be much happier at home. 👍
Recharging Rada’s recall to a whistle.
Rada has not practiced recall for quite some time as I have been taking her to a carpark to work on her reactivity to people and cars.
She gets so drawn into the environment and all the interesting smells.
So she doesn’t constantly pull me around which can be frustrating for both me and her i work on engagement and recall training.
You can make recall more fun for your dogs by delivering the food in different ways such as.
Throwing the food for the dog to chase or target.
Scattering food in front of you to build up duration around you.
Feeding to the mouth
Throwing the food for the dog to catch
Walking backwards and feeding your dog.
The more ways you deliver the food the higher value the behaviour of recall becomes.
The dogs find it rewarding and fun. 😃
Here she is smashing it!! 🐶😃
