Note to self… stop telling clients you’re gonna steal their puppy 🤦🏻‍♀️ tough, when they’re as cute as Ruby! Want to get your puppy off to a great start, or problems with your dog? Why not give us a call ☎️

The team made the most of today’s glorious weather and headed out for the morning. Somewhat interrupting the serenity of the lake was the inevitable supercharged and relentless spanner 🤣🙄 Then down to Betws and the popty, and a chance to practice doing a little bit of nothing! Hope all of you locally managed to make the most of today, too! 😎☀️

This handsome devil is Teddy! Teddy was born in Romania and arrived here with a rehoming organisation a number of years ago. His humans have been struggling to understand and manage his behaviour around unfamiliar dogs and people, both out on walks and in the home.

A dog’s early experiences, genetics and development can all influence how they respond to the world around them. For dogs coming from different backgrounds, there can be plenty of unknowns to unpick, particularly when their early experiences are largely unknown.

That said, tonight saw Teddy introduced to some behaviour modification patterns, having spent the past week establishing some basic training cues…. he and his human absolutely smashed it! 💥👊💪

I’m looking forward to building on this progress and helping Teddy and his family enjoy more relaxed walks and a happier home life for everyone! 😃

Although she was super calm during our consultation, Ivy’s humans report she has some BIG feelings about other dogs 🫣 I’m looking forward to helping them work through some training to help Ivy feel better about those other dogs 🦮🐕🐩 Need some support with your dogs behaviour? Why not give us a call ☎️

🎂It’s our birthdays! 🎉 If we count him in dog years, Quillbert is now technically older than me… and likely wiser! To celebrate, we’ve been up and around Llyn Elsi, back through Betws for our traditional birthday sausage roll at the Popty…. Then chicken dinosaurs and peanut butter covered madeira cake for tea. I was very excited about the dinosaur element - Mr. Fox seemed pretty excited by al of it 😂

Little Elsi’s humans have not only signed her up for our next group puppy class, but also took advantage of a couple of home visits before classes begin at the end of October. If you’d like to enroll your puppy in our next intake for Puppy Foundations, you can use the following link ! We begin on Sunday 25th October https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=29235594

Wonderful to have little Juno on board for some 121 puppy training 😍 and… because her humans have done so much work on life skills such as loose lead walking and recall already, we can get stuck in to some games to help nurture anticipated breed specific behaviours, which may influencer her decisions as she heads towards adolescence 🫣😁 if you’d like more information about our puppy services, why not check out our website https://www.boundlessdogtrainer.co.uk/services-2

I love a client catch in! Yesterday we saw Ren, who we last saw in December! Her humans wanted to review the training they’d been doing during that time and ensure they were on the right track for continued success (which they absolutely were!). I’m hearing both 121 clients and group class participants talk about behaviour in a really thoughtful way, which I’m so thrilled about ❤️ Ren’s people talked about achieving an ‘equilibrium’ - another group class participant recently talked about observing an odd behaviour and working to try to understand WHY the dog was doing it, and what they were trying to achieve… Another, how they’d removed their dog from a competition environment because the dog was not enjoying it. I love this approach - it demonstrates so much respect for dogs being part of our families, rather than possessions to be ‘fixed’. Huge credit to all those people.
