Did you know that many with, or affected by dementia, find comfort in animals?🐶😺
On the 4th Thursday of every month, Crossroads Gloucestershire host Dog Days. A day designed for people at any stage of a dementia diagnosis, providing a safe, engaging environment featuring trained therapy dogs to help reduce isolation and provide much-needed respite for carers.
Volunteers and dogs endure weeks of rigorous training and have been carefully selected based on the dog’s temperament, ensuring client safety. Pictured is Stan the bulldog enjoying his time at the Dementia Awareness Event that took place on Sunday at Beechenhurst.
Dog Days is a great opportunity for carers to share experiences, enjoy a cup of tea, and relax while those they care for engage in a fun and secure environment.
