Located on the corner of Maypole Road and Barbrook Lane, The Tiptree Veterinary Centre has been operational since 1979 and has established a reputation for both clinical excellence and caring compassion. Tiptree Veterinary Centre is the only practice in the town with all the facilities on site, including operating theatres, laboratory, radiography and ultrasound, ECG and endoscopy, as well as three seperate wards for hospitalised patients.

Today we said goodbye (for now) to Eloise!🥺

Eloise has been with us on placement since September whilst completing her veterinary care assistant course at Writtle college.

Eloise has completed a number of assignments and practical tasks in order to gain her new qualification!

She has become a very valued member of our team here at Tiptree and we hope to welcome her back in the future! 🫶

Huge congratulations to Kate for being awarded "Clinical Supervisor Of The Year 2025" 🌟

This award recognises the dedication, experience and outstanding support she gives to her students- teaching and guiding the next generation of veterinary nurses every step of the way! 🐱🐶

Millie is now nearly at the finish line to becomming a qualified veterinary nurse and we cannot wait to see her qualify! 🫶

Introducing the lovely Ozzy, our April braveheart! 🫶💕

Ozzy has been visiting us regularly for bandage changes following having surgery with our vet Michelle!

Ozzy underwent a tail amputation after suffering from "Happy Tail"-
having repeated trauma to catching the area the only option was to remove it! 🥹

She has been a star patient throughout and we have all loved caring for her and watching her show off her tricks in reception!

⚠️ A warning to cat owners this Valentine's Day ⚠️

If you are planning on getting a loved one flowers for Valentine's Day, please be aware of the risk with lilies if you are a cat owner.

“Pollen-free” lilies (Lilium species) are sometimes promoted as pet-safe or animal-friendly — this is NOT true for cats. It’s not just the pollen that causes harm.

Studies show that the leaves and petals are also toxic, and it’s likely that the entire plant poses a serious risk if eaten. Even small amounts can lead to severe kidney injury.

If you have a cat, please keep them safe by avoiding:
❌ All lilies (Lilium species)
❌ Day lilies (Hemerocallis species)

This includes keeping them out of your home and garden.

This is Poppy who belongs to one of our patient care assistants!

Poppy recently underwent surgery after having a nasty infection in her leg- most likely from a foreign body!

Following the surgery Poppy had drains placed in her leg to allow any fluid or foreign material to continue draining, she has been on strict rest and has been proudly wearing her cone of shame!

Today she was given the all clear by our vet Michelle! 🥰

She was super brave throughout her whole treatment and we are so glad that she has recovered well!
