Located on the corner of Maypole Road and Barbrook Lane, The Tiptree Veterinary Centre has been operational since 1979 and has established a reputation for both clinical excellence and caring compassion. Tiptree Veterinary Centre is the only practice in the town with all the facilities on site, including operating theatres, laboratory, radiography and ultrasound, ECG and endoscopy, as well as three seperate wards for hospitalised patients.

This lovely boy was in for his annual vaccinations and health check!

Pablo was given a clean bill of health & enjoyed some fuss and treats at reception after his consult! 🫶

💜𝓒𝓻𝓾𝓶𝓫𝓵𝓮 & 𝓣𝓸𝓯𝓯𝔂 💜

This lovely pair stayed with us to have their teeth scaled & polished due to a build up of plaque.

This requires a general anaesthetic to be able to clean under the gum line and perform the procedure safely!

Brushing should be the first line of defence in dog oral care but there are other things you can implement too. Chews are a great way to help them naturally clean their teeth, and they can be fun for them too.

Chew toys help massage the gums, promote circulation and can dislodge food particles and plaque along the gum line. Vet-approved dental treats can also help reduce plaque and tartar.

Your vet can recommend the best diet for your dog as well as specific chew toys and treats which can promote good dental care.

Pets need to be vaccinated early to ensure they stay safe from disease. 🦠

A pet microchip is a tiny computer chip about the size of a grain of rice. It contains a unique code, used as a permanent form of ID and security for your pet!

By law if you own a dog or cat, you must get them microchipped though the rules are slightly different for each.

Dogs must be microchipped by the time they’re eight weeks old. For cats in England, you need to get them microchipped by 20 weeks old. This is the case even if you have an indoor cat who never leaves your home.

🐾Poisoning is very serious and can be fatal if left untreated. The average household is littered with hidden dangers. Keeping these well out of paw’s reach is vital to protecting your dog!

Dogs are naturally inquisitive, always sniffing out and tasting new things. Unfortunately, this puts them at risk of encountering poisons and toxins which, if eaten, licked or brushed up against, can make them very unwell.

❗If your dog shows any symptoms of poisoning, or if they’ve eaten something they shouldn’t, take them to your nearest vet immediately. If possible, take the source of the poison with you to give your vet a clearer picture of the problem. In the case of fungus or mushroom poisoning, note where you found it and take a sample in a plastic bag (a poo bag comes in handy) to help identify it!

Tiptree Veterinary Centre

Our highly qualified and keenly motivated vets and nurses are passionate about what they do and will lovingly treat your animal as their own. We’re always learning and open to new skills. For example, did you know we offer Keyhole Surgery via our sister practice? We are now able to carry out a number of procedures, including spaying by keyhole, minimising the trauma and recovery time for so many animals.

Our nurses also run clinics for bandaging, repeat injections, blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring, they help with behaviour counselling and slimmer’s club. We are also very keen to promote preventative care.

We still get emotional about seeing the journey of beloved family pets from first vaccinations to the final consultation; it might be our job but it’s also our hearts that break when we’ve nursed them and seen them recover and sent them home. We’ve been through the journey with our own pets and so we know how to deal sensitively with both their needs and yours.
