π Blackberry season is here! πΎ
If you're out enjoying a walk with your dog, keep an eye out for wild blackberries. They're starting to ripen now, making it the perfect time to pick a few and pop them in the freezer for later.
Blackberries are a fantastic natural treat for dogs and are packed with goodness, including:
πΎ Antioxidants to help protect healthy cells
πΎ Vitamin C to support the immune system
πΎ Vitamin K for healthy bones
πΎ Fibre to aid digestion
πΎ Manganese to support metabolism and overall health
Once frozen, they make a refreshing summer treat. You can offer a couple straight from the freezer, add them to a LickiMat, mix them into kefir or natural yoghurt (if your dog can have dairy), or mash them into their food.
Just remember:
πΏ Pick from clean areas, away from busy roads and places that may have been sprayed with chemicals.
πΆ Feed in moderation, as too many berries can upset sensitive tummies.
Nature's own little superfood, and best of all... they're free! π€
Have you found any ripe blackberries yet? We'd love to see your photos! πΈπΎ
