Hello everyone!
I hope you are all well,
I know it’s been such a long time since I’ve posted but I have in fact now moved and settled in Colchester 🥰

I am looking to potentially restart providing my services again soon but there will be a few changes due to my relocation. After careful consideration, I have decided that I will no longer be doing overnight sits and will only be covering Colchester and some surrounding areas.

If you have previously used my services and haven’t done so already, would you mind leaving a review on here please? It would be much appreciated 🐾

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday there was an announcement that the XL bully breed is soon to be another banned breed within the UK. Of course this is very sad news and my heart goes out to any one that has an XL bully as a family member.

At present specific information hasn’t been released regarding plans moving forward but here is some information based on restrictions for current banned breeds and what to do in preparation for the XL bully breed being officially banned.

- If your dog isn’t already, neuter them prior to the ban coming into effect. All XL bullies will need to be neutered to comply with banned breeds rules. Having your dog neutered will also increase their chances of being put on the exemption list. In addition to this, some forces within the UK have an interim exemption scheme which will stop your dog from needing to go into kennels until their court exemption date.

- Begin to muzzle train your dogs. XL bullies will need to have a muzzle on and constantly on lead in public places when this comes into effect. This includes within your car. By beginning muzzle training now it will get your dog used to it prior to the commencement of the new rules. Additionally, this will show that you are a responsible owner.

- All XL bullies will need to be insured, third party insurance is also recommended

One of the most important pieces of information at this time is that if the police or any official comes to you with your dog DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. Paperwork may include instruction to put your dog to sleep. Please get professional advice as soon as possible prior to signing or agreeing to anything.

At this time, there is no information on how the XL bully is going to be defined, but industry professionals think it is going to be similar to how they define pitbulls (another banned breed) including measurements and characteristics.

I am deeply saddened to hear about this and understand that it is a concerning time for any followers who have a XL bully as a family member.

This is a post I never ever wanted to do,

Today one of the most important poochies is my life, left us for Heaven. I’ve worked with Timber for longer than my companies been running and have watched him go from isolated street dog to literally the most loving home.

Words can’t explain how much I’m going to miss him, so instead,

Hello everyone!
Bit of an unusual post today but I think it’s very important 😊

Today during my walks I have found twos dogs just wandering round the streets, one of the owners were  horrified and the other knew. There are lots of dangers with free roaming dogs, including running into traffic which the dogs did today (of course I ran after them😂🤦🏻‍♀️) and I was able to reunite them with their owners on both occasions 🐾

Both dogs didn’t have tags on their collars so they could be brought home easily.

It is now a legal requirement that all dogs when being walked wear collars and tags are so easily available for their collars. As well as it being a legal requirement that all dogs and cats are now microchipped.

What can you do to make sure that your dogs are safe and can come home easily if they are found?

- Ensure that your animal is microchipped and ensure their details are up to date. Next time you take your dog or cat to the vets ask them to check their number and to ensure their details are correct. This could help you be reunited with your pet easily, safely and quickly!
- Make sure your animal is wearing a collar and a tag with the correct contactable information. This way if your animal is found they can be taken home or you can be contacted.
- If your animal has got out, contact local lost and found charities. Local to us we have Scruffy’s Angels and Pippa’s lost and found. 🐾

Yellow Dog Tuesday - What makes a dog reactive?

Dogs can become reactive for a number of different reasons, these include but are not limited to the following:
- Lack of socialisation
- a genetic disorder
- prior bad experiences (this is particularly common with rescues as their background is normally unknown)
- lack of training.

Just because a dog is reactive does not mean there is nothing anyone can do to make them have a less stressful and anxious life.

Tomorrow I will be posting about how you can help your dog if they are reactive.

Today is Dog’s in Yellow Day!

So of course I had to share Luna 🐶
Luna is reactive towards other dogs and has come along leaps and bounds due to the amazing work from her owner! 🐾

Luna wears a I Need Space jacket to let other people know that she needs them to give her a little space to support her during her walks.

During this week I am going to be sharing information about Yellow Coats, Reactivity and Nervousness and what you can do to support their owners and dogs 🐾

Luna is such a good girl, loving and affectionate. Just because a dog is reactive doesn’t mean they are aggressive! 🐾
