🌞 **The European heatwave continues...** 🌞
Whilst temperatures have eased slightly here in the UK, much of Europe continues to experience exceptionally high temperatures. It's been challenging for everyone travelling—especially our very important four-legged passengers. 🐾❤️
The extreme weather has unfortunately resulted in occasional delays across parts of the transport network, including longer waiting times at the Eurotunnel and ferry ports as operators implement additional safety measures and manage increased summer traffic.
Please be assured that, whilst some delays are beyond our control, **our priority will always be the safety and welfare of your pets.**
At Happy Saluki Pet Transport we continue to:
💧 Provide fresh drinking water throughout every journey.
❄️ Travel in fully air-conditioned vehicles.
🚶 Schedule regular comfort, toilet and exercise breaks.
🌡️ Monitor temperatures closely and adapt our journeys where needed.
🐾 Never compromise on the wellbeing of the pets in our care.
# # # 🐶 A reminder for our pet owners...
Before travelling into the UK from Europe, please ensure your pet has:
✅ A valid microchip.
✅ A valid Animal Health Certificate (AHC) or EU Pet Passport (where applicable).
✅ A valid rabies vaccination.
✅ **Dogs entering Great Britain must receive an approved tapeworm treatment administered by a veterinarian between 24 and 120 hours (1–5 days) before arrival.** This treatment must be correctly recorded on your pet's paperwork.
# # # ✈️ A reminder for our human travellers too!
If you're travelling to the UK from many visa-free countries (including the USA, Canada, Australia and most EU countries), you may now need a **UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)** before you travel. Without the correct permission, you may not be allowed to board your flight, ferry or Eurotunnel crossing. The ETA is linked digitally to your passport and should be arranged before you travel.
