Behind the Scenes at Pawprint Hearts! 🐾✨

​Life lately has been a beautiful, busy mix of grooming some of my absolute favorite four-legged clients and enjoying some well-deserved quality time outside the salon! 🌳🐶

​I always say that loving what you do means you never work a day in your life, and getting to style these gorgeous pups is the absolute best. But when the grooming aprons come off, it's all about making memories, recharging, and enjoying the little things.

​Here’s a little look at what’s been keeping a smile on my face recently—from perfectly coiffed pups to a few favorite personal highlights!

🐾 An Important Note From Pawprint Hearts 🐾

​First of all, a massive thank you to all of our wonderful clients who support us week in and week out. We truly love pampering your fur-babies!

​As a small, independent business, we pour our hearts into what we do. However, this week has been incredibly tough. Due to a sudden wave of last-minute cancellations and "no-shows," we have lost over £200 in income this week alone.

​When an appointment is missed or cancelled at the very last minute, it has a huge impact on us:

​Empty Slots: We often have a long waiting list of dogs needing grooms who miss out because we can't fill the slot at short notice.

​Small Business Reality: As a small business, empty slots mean we quite literally don't get paid for that time, yet our bills, products, and running costs stay exactly the same. I too also have a family to feed!

​🕒 Our Policy Reminder
​We completely understand that life happens, emergencies pop up, and schedules change! All we ask is for at least 24 to 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule.

​Moving forward, we will be strictly enforcing our cancellation policy and requiring a deposit/fee for missed slots to ensure we can keep our doors open and keep serving our amazing community.

​Thank you so much for your understanding, your respect for our time, and your continued support of Pawprint Hearts. We couldn't do this without you! 🐶❤️

I’m so proud to share that I’ve officially updated my professional qualifications with the Canine Health & First Aid course through Animal Love! 📜✨

​As a groomer, your dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my absolute top priorities. This brilliant course was a fantastic refresher on critical skills, including:

✨️ ​CPR & Emergency Response: Knowing exactly what to do in a worst-case scenario.

✨️ ​ Vital Signs: How to check pulses, respiration, and recognize early signs of distress or shock.

✨️ ​Injury Management: Bandaging, handling cuts or minor injuries, and managing choking.

✨️ ​Health Assessments: Spotting subtle signs of illness before they become major issues.

​It feels great to keep my skills sharp so you can have total peace of mind every single time you leave your pups with me. 🐶 Total care, from head to paw!

​With the temperatures soaring over the coming days, keeping our fur-babies safe and cool is our absolute top priority! There is a lot of conflicting advice out there, so we’ve put together some quick myth-busters to help you keep your pups comfortable.

​⚠️ 🚨 CRITICAL SALON NOTICE 🚨 ⚠️
If your dog has an appointment with us over the next few days, please DO NOT walk them to the salon. Even a short walk on scorching pavements can severely burn their sensitive paw pads, and the midday heat puts them at a massive risk of heatstroke.

​For your upcoming appointments, please:

🚗 Arrange a cool, air-conditioned car ride.
⏱️ Keep the transition from car to our cool salon as short and shaded as possible.
💧 Bring a bottle of water for the journey.

​Our salon environment is kept beautifully cool, and we are monitoring every dog closely to ensure their comfort. Your pet’s safety means everything to us! 🩷
