Hey🙋🏻♀️
This may be unprofessional of me and this may ruffle some feathers or upset some people but I feel it needs to be said as I hear it year on year!
When you make comment or shout at a dog Walker that it’s too Hot to walk dogs please just think about all the planning and prep behind the seens.
You may see them do their first walks in a field and make an assumption but as the day goes on and the heat rises do you see them move into the woods, plan walks so no dogs walk on a pavement or even book a secure field where there could be water from a hose so dogs can play and keep cool.
Do you see them message their clients the night before to rearrange group walks so walks can be moved earlier or so older dogs and larger breeds can be on the earlier walks.
Do you see the cooling mats in the vans the extra water we carry the damp towels and air con on so cold we have to put our jumpers on?
We care for our dogs a lot!!
We miss them when they are on holiday. We worry if they are poorly or having something done. We check in on them if not seen for a while and we watch these dogs grow and have a huge part in their development!
We love them like our own and they love us!
Most of us are also canine first aid trained and understand the signs of a dog getting too much heat exposure! And yes I can assure you when it does become too hot we swap to home visits.
So please if you need to pass a comment or shout at us just have a think, because do you plan and think as much as we do for our dogs x 🐾🥰
Thanks Hayley xx
