🐴🐴🐴 After over 30 years building and refining our herd, we know our horses inside out—and so will you. By the end of your trail, you’ll have ridden your horse for at least 2 full days, seen them in traffic, open countryside, walk, trot, canter, catching, tacking up, etc.

Buying your Freerein horse is easy! Just follow these 3 simple steps:
1️⃣ Book a holiday with us – Choose any of our guided or self-guided trail riding holidays.
2️⃣ We’ll match you with a horse – Based on your height, weight, and experience, we’ll pair you with a suitable partner.
3️⃣ Love your horse? You can buy them! – If you’ve connected with your horse on trail, you may have the opportunity to take them home.

We only sell horses to our trail customers and only once they’ve ridden that specific horse on trail. That way, you’re not just buying any horse—you’re buying *your* horse ❤️🐴 ❤️

Freerein Riding Holidays

It is now three decades since the first self-guided riders ventured into the beautiful Radnorshire countryside and discovered the joy of riding freerein, without guides or instructors. In these early years our wonderful little company was named ‘Saddle Up & Ride’. Fast forward to today; we now welcome many riders from all over the globe to experience our unique trail riding holidays under the name ‘Freerein Riding Holidays’.

Building on our many years of combined experience and knowledge, we pride ourselves in offering you outstanding horses, guides, routes and riding holiday organisation. Our exclusive mapped and described trail network has thousands of miles of tracks stretching from the English border across Wales to the Irish Sea encompassing some six hundred square miles and thirty inns & guest houses.

We have rides suitable for all adults who want to explore the beautiful hills and valleys of Mid Wales on horseback. Freerein Riding Holidays now has three main types of trail - Learn, Guided and Self-Guided. So whether you are just starting out on your equine journey or you are an experienced trail rider we have the right trip for you.
