Thinking of training as a dog groomer? Avoid these 3 common mistakes 👇

❌ Choosing the closest school. Convenient isn't the same as good, and your training shapes your whole career.

❌ Choosing the cheapest course. Cheap training often leaves gaps. We regularly retrain groomers on skills they'd already paid another provider to teach them.

❌ Assuming every "diploma" is a real qualification. Not every course called a diploma or certificate is a regulated qualification. Ask who the awarding body is and check it on the Ofqual Register.

✅ Get it right first time: choose a trusted, long-standing school with a proven history and qualified trainers who have been teaching for years.

Meet Poppy, the founder of Canine Groom School 👋

Before dogs, Poppy had a flourishing musical theatre career in London. In 2006 she and Steve took the leap, re-trained for a career surrounded by dogs and opened their first canine business.

Today Poppy is:
⭐ An International Certified Master Groomer (ICMG), one of only a small number in the UK
⭐ A City & Guilds Internal Quality Assessor
⭐ Our Head Grooming Tutor

She has welcomed students from New Zealand, Dubai, Turkey, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, Malta, Iceland and all over the UK to train at our family farm in the Ribble Valley. And she did it all while raising 4 children!

These are our busiest months of the year for grooms especially late November and December.

If anyone does not need their grooming appointment in November or December or needs to cancel/rearrange their grooming appointment please can you let us know as soon as possible then we can be as organised as possible.
