Blinkin’ eck… it’s Baltic out there ❄️🥶

Right folks, the temperature has absolutely fallen through the floor, and while some dogs are strutting about like they’re auditioning for Frozen 3, others are questioning every life choice they’ve ever made.

Here’s your LCA guide to surviving the cold snap without frozen paws, pulled muscles or dramatic side-eye from your dog 👀🐾

🐕 Coats aren’t just for divas
If your dog is young, lean, short-coated, elderly… or you’re heading out for a long walk – pop a coat on. No one wins medals for “hardest dog in Lancashire”.

🧊 Cold muscles + sudden zoomies = nope
Ease into walks. Cold muscles are more likely to strain, especially in adolescents who think they’re invincible.

🐾 Mind the paws
Icy pavements, frozen mud and grit can irritate pads. Check paws after walks and give them a rinse. Fancy dog spa? No. Sensible owner? Yes.

⏱ Shorter walks are fine
Mental enrichment at home , less frozen ears and regret. Scatter feeds, sniff games, training sessions… your dog doesn’t need a three-hour tundra trek today.

🔥 Warm, dry, snooze
After walks: towel dry, warm bed, and prepare for the post-walk coma where they sleep like they’ve just worked a double shift.

Basically… if you’re cold, your dog probably is too.
If you wouldn’t fancy standing outside for 20 minutes in a t-shirt, don’t expect your dog to.

Stay warm, stay sensible, and remember —
