Kenn Pier Stables is a small friendly livery yard in North Somerset, set on a 280 acre farm with good facilities. We pride ourselves in excellent, individual care of your horse, giving peace of mind and a stress free environment for the owner.

For over 36 years, our family-run yard has provided a peaceful, loving home where horses can slow down, feel safe, and simply enjoy being themselves. We’ve been proudly BHS approved since 2002 and have always been highly praised for the care we give.

Set on our beautiful 280-acre Somerset farm, this is a place filled with calm, space, and gentle routine. Every horse in our care is treated as an individual, with kindness, patience, and genuine affection. You’ll have complete peace of mind knowing your much-loved horse is being looked after by people who care as deeply as you do.

Whether your companion is retiring through age, recovering from injury, or simply ready for a quieter life, we make sure they receive 5-star care, comfort, and attention every day.

In the summer, they can enjoy our spacious fields and the freedom to relax naturally. Through the winter, they have a warm stable with daily turnout, keeping them happy, comfortable, and content. With Lynne’s extensive experience in horse care and rehabilitation, every little need — from special diets to medical routines — is handled with compassion and understanding.

We are in Kenn, Nr Clevedon, with easy access to Bristol and the M5.

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to join our team as a part-time groom. Experience in horse care and your own transport are essential. You’ll be helping care for our liveries and retired horses, working alongside experienced and supportive staff in a welcoming environment.

Working Hours:
• Monday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Tuesday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Alternate weekends

Greenvale's horse transportation arrived after a long journey by collecting horses from Holland and Belgium. Rose, a beautiful mare who arrived from Holland, has joined my yard. After a lengthy journey, she quickly settled into her home.
Rose is now getting acquainted with a new field companion.

The horse transportation by Greenvale was highly professional and the horses were well-cared for, with all the biosecurity measures implemented.

I am grateful to my grooms for their hard work during this unbearable heat, keeping horses cool during this heat wave.

Keeping horses cool during this heat wave.
Our horses are staying cool and comfortable here at Kenn Pier Stables, and we are fortunate to have ample fields with natural shade, trees, and high hedges. All fields have automatic water drinkers, and fresh running water is crucial in this heat. The water requirement for a horse that weighs 453 kg is around 10 gallons per day. High temperatures and humidity can also increase that amount.
We provide salt licks in fields for our horses to help them maintain proper hydration and electrolyte balance. When horses sweat, they lose electrolytes such as sodium and chloride, and salt licks motivate them to drink more water, which helps prevent dehydration and muscle cramps.
Our horses come in daily for cold, refreshing lavender washes.
Our horses are protected from insects by wearing fly sheets and fly masks during hot weather.
