Calling all friends of Pooch!! We need your love beams!! 😍 As some of you may know, poor old Pooch has been having a tough time with his arthritis over the last few months. His pain medication just wasn't cutting the mustard.😢 Luckily, Poochies fantastic vet Mr Steve Tasker of Watkin and Tasker vets, Portishead, has put him on a new drug today called Librela, which has been getting rave reviews on the Canine Arthritis Management's page, Holly's Army. Do you have a nervous or reactive dog? Are you worried that you won't be able to find someone to walk them when you go back to work? Or do you worry about walking the dog yourself? Well fear not!! Pooch Adventures is here!!
I specialise in walking reactive dogs. All the dogs I've ever owned have been rescue dogs. Some have been severely aggressive towards other dogs, and my beloved Pooch, was extremely nervous aggressive towards people. It can be scary to walk this kind of dog if you are not used to this behaviour. Over the years I have learnt many strategies to keep both the dog and the general public safe. Even if the dog cannot be let off the lead, I ensure that they will have a physically and mentally stimulating adventure, which in itself, can help to calm some behaviors.
These dogs are not necessarily aggressive dogs, they are dogs with triggers. Having a calm, confident handler, that understands the dog and their fears, will lead to a happier, more confident and less fearful dog! This is the beautiful Poppy, modeling the bandana's that I put on all the dogs that I walk. I do this just in case they slip their collars when we are out and about, so there is always a number to ring! Isn't she noble!!###x
