Desensitise!… attached is a sound and visual of fireworks, from YouTube that I have used over time with other similar sounds, these have eased the fear and excessive excitement in my rescued pets and avoided extremely stressful issues.
QUIETLY play this increasing volume over days and weeks (take your time)
Ensure you distract and play or treat reward, reducing the reinforcement of fear. Reduce your own anxious responses, play, laugh, distract.
Additionally you could sit calmly, and relax yourself, ignoring the sounds.
Your dog/other pet will be looking to you for that confidence.
REPETITION is the key, slowly increasing and decreasing the sound, a minimum of 30 min intervals.
Low background noise for as long as possible, it works if you have the commitment!
