I find it is often the simple things that provide us with inspiration.
We can be so busy in the mind looking for it, yet when we relax and let go, it comes.
Horses show us love of the body,
they represent power and freedom.
For horses freedom is movement.
Their power is quiet, respected yet huge.
This is very simple. Range of movement softness in the body, living in the moment.
For us as humans our range of movement can become restricted through habitual tasks such as sitting at a desk all day in the office.
Driving a lot.
This effects the chemical balances too in the brain.
We hold on to things that might be familiar yet no longer serving... vs let go.
Humans often become fragmented:
mind over body
productivity over rhythm
familiarity over truth
holding on over letting go
Habitual modern life restricts movement physically and emotionally.
Sitting, driving, screens, repetitive stress these don’t just tighten muscles; they narrow perception and emotional flow.
The body adapts around the life being lived. Over time we stop noticing what is restricted because it becomes familiar.
Horses mirror this immediately.
In riding, you cannot fully hide where you are:
Holding tension travels through the reins, pelvis, breath, and timing
rushing creates rushing
hesitation creates uncertainty
softness invites softness
grounded creates trust
The horse responds not only to technique, but to congruence.
Fluid movement, like water
Riding a horse mirrors where we are in sync and by just being with the horses too
I'm offering a small group practice on 24th May. PM me to book.
