National Animal Welfare Trust Clacton National Animal Welfare Trust rescue centre in Clacton, Essex, helping and rehoming cats and dogs 🐾

The National Animal Welfare Trust's Clacton site was originally set up by Ann and Reg Sims in 1984. It was entrusted to NAWT in October 2011 following the Sims' retirement after 25 dedicated years of service. We rehome around 300 cats and dogs at our Clacton centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before being rehomed.

Let’s give a warm welcome to our new lad in town! Eddie the Greyhound is one happy boy 🥰 He adores making new friends and his tail is always wagging 🐾

Having hung up his racing shoes, he’s ready for early retirement and getting his paws used to life in a forever home 🏡 He loves going on his walkies, having fusses and chucking his toys up in the air 🧸

We think his joy is infectious so we just know he’s guaranteed to bring lots of smiles to someone very lucky 💙

We’ve had lots of successes in our cattery lately with some of our lovely cats being matched to their forever homes 🥰🏡🥰

But for one little lady she’s still got her paws crossed that her chance will come soon 🐾

Sadly, Poppa is finding herself to be a little unlucky in love 💔 Often our black cats can be overlooked and spend longer in our care and unfortunately that’s the reality for Poppa 🖤

But we think this girl is simply gorgeous and we know a lucky human out there is going to think so too! With her striking eyes, Poppa is beautiful not just in looks but with her personality too 🥰

She enjoys fuss and attention, a little playtime and perching up high on her scratching tower watching the world go by 🌎 Equally she loves to find a cosy spot to curl up in. We think Poppa’s personality will shine even brighter once she’s found her forever home and getting to know this little lady will be a special journey for someone ⭐️

What a wonderful two days we had at the Clacton Airshow - we raised over £200 to help the animals in our care. We could not do these events without our fantastic volunteers who donate their time to help. We would also like to thank everyone who visited our stand and showed their support in some way. We also had a visit from Nigel Farage who showed great interest in the work that we do.
