Did you know that some flea and tick treatments used on pets can end up in our rivers and harm wildlife if not used correctly? The Be Spot On Aware campaign is encouraging pet owners to take a few simple steps to help protect both their pets and the environment.

Small changes can make a big difference:
✅ Apply treatments exactly as instructed - directly onto your pet’s skin, not their fur
✅ Avoid washing your pet straight after treatment - plan baths in advance
✅ Keep pets out of rivers, lakes and streams for at least 4 days after application
✅ Dispose of used pipettes in the bin - never rinse them down the sink
✅ Buy treatments from trusted sources like your vet or registered retailers
✅ Put pet fur from treated animals in the bin, don’t leave it out for nesting birds

These products are important for keeping pets healthy, but how we use them matters. When they enter waterways, they can impact aquatic life and the wider environment.

By being spot on with how we use and dispose of treatments, we can all play a part in protecting our local rivers and wildlife. 💚

If you think you may need any, call in tomorrow 8.00am - 2.00pm or Saturday 9.00am - 2.00pm
