Keeping cool on our woodland walks this week 🌿💦🐾

With the warmer weather, I’ve been making sure the dogs are out nice and early, sticking to shaded woodland routes, and enjoying plenty of water breaks and splash time along the way.

Safe to say the water was a big hit today 😄

Happy dogs, cool paws, and lots of fun while staying safe in the heat 💛

A lovely, lively group walk today 🐾

These two gorgeous Bassett Hounds (brother and sister) usually come out with me separately—but today was their first walk together… and they had the best time!

We had our fab stick-loving Labrador… although his prize didn’t stay his for long 😄 one of the Bassetts had other ideas and happily claimed it for herself!

We were also joined by one of my regulars, who I’ve been walking for a few years now. He’s a super chilled boy, happy to just mooch along and take everything in at his own pace—completely unbothered by all the excitement around him 💛

Lots of play, a bit of cheekiness, and plenty of happy dogs enjoying themselves together—that’s what it’s all about 💛

I always take the time to get to know each dog and build the right group for them—it makes all the difference.

Six months ago, I started walking a lovely boy who had been labelled as “reactive.”

And yes—he can be. But what I saw was a dog who just needed time, understanding, and the right environment to feel safe.

We began with solo walks, focusing on building trust and a strong bond. Once he felt comfortable, I slowly introduced him to calm, well-balanced dogs—no rushing, no pressure.

Fast forward to now… he’s out on group walks, making new friends, and genuinely enjoying himself. Watching his confidence grow has been amazing, and he looks so happy being part of the pack 🐾

Every dog is different, and sometimes they just need someone willing to go at their pace.
