On Thursday I worked my last shift at MyVets Hydro and closed the doors for the final time 😢💔.
From starting as maternity cover two and half years ago time has flown and a lot has happened.
I have met some amazing people - colleges, clients and life long friends 💕.
And of course those furry faces 🐾🐶 who it has been a privilege to help and have made everyday enjoyable and rewarding (just a few pictured below 😍).
I am going to truly miss you all and want to say thank you for the last few years, esp the support shown in the last few weeks 🥰.
Some I'm sure our paths will cross again in the future and to those which don't, I wish you all the best and happy times a head ###

Although extremely sad.... one door closes another door opens 🎉.
New and exciting things to come 💦🐶

Lots of Love x💖x woofs & cuddles xx🐾xx

Hi all 😊, time for a catch up, its been a while ....

After gaining my qualifications in 2018, I have been in continous employment working within various, busy hydrotherapy centres. Canine Therapies, Fylde Coast Hydrotherapy and most recent MyVet Hydro 💦.

At the start of covid, came furlough then redundancy but soon gained a maternity cover position, leading to employment at MyVets Hydro in Oct 2020, and became a member of IRVAP(CHA).

Unfortunaley following the recent, dreadful news regarding the closing of the centre within the next coming weeks, I find myself in a situation of redundancy again.

Over the past two half years I’ve had the opportunity to aid recovery of so many amazing patients. become part of their journey, create bonds and see confidence built in and out of the water with dog and owner, so many happy faces 😀🐶🐾.

I have been running clinics and using a combination of therapies alongside pool/treadmill, including massage, shower therapy, Biomag, Photolight and also trained as a K-Laser therapist.
In addition, many hours of continual professional development has been completed to expand knowledge and skills to complement my field of work and provide the best possible care.

I have loved meeting so many wonderful people along the way, clients, colleges and of course all the furry faces 🐕💕🐩

Although its been a rocky start, my passion has only grown stronger.

As one door closes another door opens 💦....

Exciting things to come 🎉 ....

Like, share, watch this space... 🐾🐾

Monty initially attended hydro to gain confidence in the water whilst young, and to overcome his previous fears.
Within a couple of sessions (to the great delight of the owner and myself) he was achieving this 😍. Well done Monty 😁!

Hello and welcome to ‘One Paw At A Time Hydrotherapy’ page.
One Paw At A Time is run by Gabriella McCorkindale, currently in the early stages of becoming a self employed therapist.
Fully Qualified Canine Hydrotherapist, ABC Level 3 Diploma in Hydrotherapy for Small Animals.
And registered member of the National Assosiation of Registered Canine Hydrotherapy (NARCH)

I have always had an interest in dogs from a very early age and had family dogs throughout my life. I gained my first job after years of pestering at my local boarding kennels for summer work at 14 which then progressed to employment after leaving school. I began handling a variety of dogs at a young age, all of various shapes, sizes, behaviours and temperaments, including boarders, rescue, re-homing cases and also seized dangerous dogs.

I spent a few years working within a larger boarding kennels, also helping out with grooming and residential dog training. I have over 15 years of working with dogs and experienced many different behavioural issues and traits.

I then progressed into veterinary practices. I began working night shifts doing emergency out of hour shifts and moved onto working within a very busy veterinary practise full time in 2012. I thoroughly enjoyed my work here and this gave me the opportunity to have a very hands on role which was extremely rewarding and also assist with many of the conditions I am now treating within Hydrotherapy.

I was introduced to hydrotherapy when my own Jack Russell terrier required hydrotherapy sessions after undergoing cruciate ligament surgery. The improvements and enjoyment my dog gained from her sessions influenced my decision to train to become a hydrotherapist and gain the same results for others.

Potential clients will be able to view examples of previous work, conditions treated, skills and techniques used by myself.

Please like, share and recommend to friends and family. Recommendation and reviews from previous clients are very important to myself with the aim to set up a personal, friendly, family run business gaining loyal clients.
All support is appreciated and I hope to see you in the future at One Paw At A Time.

I am excited to involve yourselves with exciting ventures and updates with the business and happy to answer any queries you may have.

More activity will be present on this page as the business develops and patients are treated.

Thank you for your continued support
