Only fisheries that we know and trust supply us with fresh, refrigerated salmon.

This week we received a shipment of fresh salmon, and we could not resist sharing this image with you.

Salmon is a great source of omega-3 essential fatty acids, which help keep our pets' skin and coat in good condition and promote joint health.

We place great importance on our contribution to the local community.

To inspire a career in science and technology, we are establishing links with local schools within our area. As part of this, students from Stanley High School visited us last month.

Many of our colleagues from different departments spent time with the children, showing them inside our laboratories, meeting our robots and learning about all the fantastic careers in science and technology.

Our journey to produce the world's finest pet food began 30 years ago, when we produced wheat and put it in a machine on the back of a tractor to make a granular meal.

We started with 5 workers on the farm and have now grown to employ over 850 colleagues based solely on our farm and at our two warehouses.

To this day, we continue to run our family business from our original farm in Bretherton, as we believe in our agricultural heritage.

At GA, we are constantly looking to innovate and revolutionise the way we work. It is a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaborating with our suppliers Concetti S.P.A and SYMACH our new large pack line was designed and installed.

The line utilises highly specialised systems combining X-ray with magnetic field induction to detect any metal contamination as well as other foreign bodies; CO2 Lasers for the coding of the bags to reduce ink usage and conserve the environment and a "thermographic camera" to ensure the integrity of the seals.

It is now possible to pack 13 bags per minute, giving our partners the very best for their packaging.

We recently had 10 partners join us on a tour around GA's manufacturing facility. On the tour, they found out more about the unique Freshtrusion process. They saw how the fresh meat arrives and the science and logistics behind their own brand of pet food.

It was great to see so many partners interested in the development of their pet food and understanding the nutritional benefits it provides for their customer's pets.

To help inspire the next generation and to demonstrate the many opportunities working in manufacturing offers, GA is working closely with local schools and colleges to spend time educating our future generations.

Stanley High School today spent time in our Laboratories and looking at our robots. They also had talks with our apprentices and work placement students to hear about the many opportunities that GA has to offer.

Each year at GA we hold a Family Fun day for our colleagues, giving us all a chance to celebrate together the work we do. We have been holding our family fun day the last 30 years on our farm next to our manufacturing site.

We wish to partner with our local residents of Bretherton on a mutual journey to change the way we heat and power our homes and businesses. We would do this by converting from our current reliance on carbon fuels to the use of locally generated electrical power from renewable wind and solar resources. We invited residents to our manufacturing site to hear their views on our mutual proposal.
