❤️ Thank you ❤️

You've been so generous following our appeal for kitten food, we have had so many kind donations and we really appreciate your wonderful support.

Here's a small insight into the work we are currently doing to look after the kittens in our care: our handrears 😍

They have just started eating wet food, so will soon be tucking into your donations as all the other kittens and mum cats are.

Thank you ❤️

Hi all,

Unfortunately due to the weather forecast, we have had to make the tough decision to cancel our car boot this Saturday.

The next car boot is scheduled to happen on 30th August. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

⭐️Alternative lifestyle homes needed.⭐️

We are seeking some different types of homes for our - what we like to call - 'inbetweener cats'.

We have a group of four young cats, 2 singles and a pair, who came from a home with over 70 cats coming and going over the last few years, and they are really not so keen on too much human interaction. So they would be much better suited to a home in which they can come and go as they please and not have to worry about human interaction.

They need a home with lots of outdoor space to roam and call their territory, they need access to a safe, secure and warm shelter, and someone who is around AM and PM to feed them and be there to make sure they are ok.

The types of homes we are looking for include:

Small Holdings
Farms
Stable Yards
Garden Centres
Allotments
Rural Homes with lots of land

These cats will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, up to date with flea/wormer, and neutered and blood tested, where appropriate.

If you can offer either Andy, Lotus, Fuji and Midnight a home please send in an email to [email protected] with details of the home you have for them and we will be in touch for a chat to tell you more and answer your questions.

Our final Ronnie update.
Ronnie came into our care at the end of March this year, he weighed 148kg, you could see every bone in his body, he was wearing ill fitted shoes that had been badly worn down, he had a heavy worm burden, blood tests showed his immune system was weak. Despite all this Ronnie was an absolute gentleman, he whinnied when he saw us every morning and he let us help him with vets, medicine and care. 4 months on and Ronnie now weighs 225kg, he needs more muscle but this will come in time. His coat shines and his feet are not sore. He has had a busy couple of weeks being filmed for a potential advert! He has had an equine massage which was kindly donated by Mary at Vitality Equine. And.....Ronnie has now been in his new home for a week! He is settling in well and has made firm friends with their existing rescue pony George. A huge, huge thank you to all your support surrounding this gorgeous little pony. We will miss him, but he doesn't need us anymore and we couldn't be happier about that.

The staff and volunteers had another early start at Millbrook today to ensure all the dogs got out before it got too hot.
Jasmine's favourite thing is to chase a ball but as it was too hot she did her second favourite thing, rolling with her ball instead. This lady is still waiting for her new family to come along and adopt her.

Our gorgeous and lovely Labrador cross Isabelle has stolen all of our hearts at Millbrook. She is spending a lot of her time making the most of the air conditioning and getting in as many cuddles as possible...
Feel free to check out her profile...

We have so many kittens in our care right now - 26, soon to be 32 when the next litter arrive!

These little guys and their mums are eating loads, so any donations of wet kitten food would be much appreciated.

We have put some on our Amazon Wishlist, but you can also buy some and pop it in to the cattery if you'd rather.

Favourites are Felix as good as it looks, Whiskas in gravy, Lily's Kitchen pate, applaws tins, royal canin kitten tins and pouches, and sheba.

Thank you so much 😊 💓

Does anyone have any unwanted Halloween decorations?

We are going to be hosting a Halloween fundraiser this year (details to follow soon), and want to decorate the venue.

If you do, please drop them off at the centre during our opening hours.

Many thanks

Before and After, featuring Scraps

Our beautiful Scraps arrived having been found as a stray, she was under incredibly underweight at just under two kilos, she was filthy, she had an awful belly and was suffering with a bout of cat 'flu too.

It will come as no surprise to say we were a bit concerned about her when she came to us.

We got her to the vets immediately and got her on the appropriate medication, gave her a good bath, and started feeding her a gentle diet to start her on her road to recovery.

Six weeks later and Scraps is now ready for adoption, she has been spayed, passed her blood tests and her flu has cleared up.

She is a firm favourite with everyone in the cattery, even on arrival when she must have been feeling so unwell, she was such a loving character who absolutely loved (and still does) having a fuss made of her.

You can read all about her and apply to adopt her on our website

In a rare quiet moment, Stanley agreed to stay still for a photo - he wants to let you all know that it that's time of year again: when the cattery has almost run out of Lick-e-lix.

Please consider donating some to our cats, you can drop them off during our opening hours or you can use our Amazon Wishlist to send some in.

These treats are hands-down the most popular treat in our cattery, they are great to put medication in, to distract cats for vaccinations and grooming, and to help build bonds with our more nervous residents, so any donations we receive would be ever so grateful.

Thank you 😊 ❤️
