We still have this beautiful pair of Cat Geckos in store.

These are a firm favourite for me. They are SO cool. They get their name due to their feline like appearance and behaviour. For example, they wrap their long, prehensile tails around themselves whilst sleeping like a cat would! 🥹😍

Hey everyone! We hope you’re enjoying the sunshine. ☀️

Please be aware that we will be closing slightly earlier today. We are aiming to be closed by 3pm.

The shop gets extremely hot after 3pm so we’d like to turn everything off, close up to keep it cooler and ensure poor Carl doesn’t melt!

We also suspect that everyone will be out enjoying the sun rather than shopping. ☀️

Please ensure you’ve popped in prior to 3pm. Especially those with holiday boardings booked for collection or drop off! Carl will be doing his best to contact everyone booked for today.

We are back open tomorrow from 10am.

Please remember to keep an eye on your animals in this heat! Turn off heating, lights, etc. if necessary and ensuring clean water is available at all times.

⚠️ HOT WEATHER WARNING FOR ALL REPTILE KEEPERS ⚠️

📸 Look at these beautiful setups at C&T Exotics — every enclosure is carefully temperature controlled, and right now that means those thermostats tend to be turning heat sources OFF or DOWN! 🦎🐍

When the sun comes out and temperatures climb, your usual heating equipment becomes dangerous if not set up correctly with a reptile specific thermostat. Reptiles can’t sweat or cool themselves down like we do — if your room is already warm, uncontrolled heat mats, bulbs and ceramic heaters will push their tanks to lethal levels in no time.

✅ DO THIS RIGHT AWAY:
🔹 Switch off all heat mats, basking bulbs & ceramic heaters if necessary
🔹 Double-check your thermostats — even “safe” settings can overheat when ambient temps are high
🔹 Add extra ventilation and make sure there’s always a cool end available
🔹 Keep tanks out of direct sunlight — it turns enclosures into greenhouses!
🔹 Offer plenty of fresh cool water and extra hiding spots

🔥 REMEMBER: What’s perfect in winter can be deadly in summer. A few simple checks could save your animals’ lives.
