Horse Introduction: Every Last Penny (Tara)
Tara is a 2005 thoroughbred by Kayf Tara. She really kickstarted my love for thoroughbreds, she’d had a few years off when my then 14 year old brain decided I wanted to ride her. I competed her from 2017-2019, and in those years we did some team quest dressage and quadrille, evented, show-jumped and she qualified for 2 sets of championships. In her racing career she had blown both tendons up front but her amazing owners rehabbed her. When out competing, especially eventing, I always had to be super cautious about ground. She has a meticulous pre-care and after-care routine for both riding and competing. When I stopped competing her, she went on to be a confidence giver for nervous riders, stepped in when someone’s horse went lame. She has taught so many people and is loved by so many. She is now enjoying semi-retirement, helping a friend of mine get back in the saddle. She’s not the kind of horse you can stop riding or working, she lives to work, whether it’s ground work or ridden work. 🦄

Horse Introduction: Midnight Moonbeam (Dotty)
Dots is my homebred Irish sports horse that I broke in myself. She’s ace. Although can be a bit jittery getting tacked up she is the most chill girl once your onboard. She’s standing at a whopping 15.3 (🤦‍♀️pony squisher). Her grand sire is Jumbo so hopefully will have his boldness out on the cross country. She’s a funny character. 🦄

Horse Introduction: Balli Martine (Gary)
Where do I start with Gary? He’s a 2014 Thoroughbred, I’ve had him for 4 years. In the first 2 years he managed to flip on me, bronc me off down the long side of our arena, get over his fear of water and travelling, take on his first ODE’s and competitions and battle a deadly fungal infection called Guttural Pouch Mycosis from Oct 22 to Jan 23. GPM is a fungus which grows in the guttural pouch, eating away at veins and carotid artery leading to a fatal bleed, it usually stays undetected until they bleed. He had a horse & hound article written about him which I will link in the comments. He recovered and went on to event last year, compete in BRC arena eventing. He does suffer with anxiety which you can feel underneath you, his whole body almost shakes. Again, he’s another one someone meets and fall in love with 🦄

Horse Introduction: Glenorchy (Sprite)
Sprite is the all sass, some brains. He’s a 2007 British Warmblood out of Atlantic VDL who I’ve had 5 years. He came to the yard when I was 14/15. He had showjumped up to 1.40 but lost his bottle, he had a year out and I had been asked to bring him into work. An amazing opportunity for a 15 year old! He has a larger than life personality, anyone who meets him falls in love. When I first got him he couldn’t even go around an 85cm course, now I’m able to casually pop around a 1.20cm no problem 🤣I event him up to 100. He thoroughly loves his cross country. Going from a horse who used to drag me into the muck heap daily and throw me off every other ride to a horse who has brought so much light and laughter is one of my proudest accomplishments. 🦄

Horse introduction: Cragreagh Drift (Drift)
Drift is a 2012 Connemara x Thoroughbred. I’ve had her since she was 4 (8 years). I broke her in, competed in BRC Championships in showjumping, eventing and combined training from 2017-2019. She’s a bold character on the yard, a kind but stern mare. She holds her boundaries with horses and humans and (usually) isn’t bossed around by anyone. We’ve dipped our toes in a little bit of everything, she’s not the fondest of dressage but can do a stunning test, she’s completely trained from leg and seat, moveable and can turn on a six pence. 🦄

I have the opportunity to take on rides. I am a competent 20 year old that has seen a lot of different types of horses. This is a list of what can be provided by SCB:
✅ - Personally tailored plan for your horses/yourself.
✅ - An experienced and knowledgeable team.
✅ - Rehab, breaking, schooling, ‘problem’ horses, retraining racehorses and much more!
✅ - I deal with a variety of different horses, with different needs and personalities on a daily basis.
✅ - If you come to the base yard, there are many facilities including; An Olympic sized dressage arena, on and off-road hacking, over 80 acres for grazing and riding, a cross-country course and over 30 stables including indoor and outdoor provided by Trow Lane Farm Cross Country Schooling course
✅ - Extremely knowledgeable yard owners with over 50 years experience each who are on site at all times.
Now this is a bit about me,
- I‘ve been riding since I could remember, I have always been around horses.
- I am open to trying anything, I’ve done showing, showjumping, dabbled in dressage, a little bit of western and currently I event.
- Most of my horses have come to me as youngsters or labelled as difficult horses. I love training and teaching horses new things.
- I have done BRC National championships for showjumping, eventing and combined training.
- I have my MVQ from haddon training, my BHS stages and I am insured.

Hi everyone. Someone has stolen our 12x8 deer gates last night, padlock had been cut off with an angle grinder. Sue Allen’s lovely thoroughbred mare Charmer aka Epic Charm. I’ve been kindly given the ride on Sue’s super-smart mare! Over camp weekend, I really got the opportunity to learn more about her and her about me. Super excited about this little mare 👀
