Pet loss grief 🌈 does not only show up as crying. Sometimes it shows up as standing in a room and forgetting why you walked in there because your mind feels overloaded.

Sometimes it looks like avoiding a part of the supermarket.

Or feeling irritated by normal conversation because your inner world feels so far from normal.

Sometimes it is the ache of having their love always active in your body, but nowhere familiar to place it. 🤍

It can be looking at the time and feeling that split second of I should be doing something before remembering.

It can be your body still living inside routines your heart has lost.

This is one of the harder parts of pet grief.

So much of it happens in ways that can look confusing, unexpected, or even unlike grief at all.

Which can leave people questioning themselves when really, this is what deep attachment, disrupted routines, nervous system dysregulation, and the loss of a caregiving role can look like.
