Ouch!
If your pet gets stung, keep an eye out for swelling, redness, limping, or sudden licking at the area. Most stings are mild, but if you notice facial swelling, breathing changes, vomiting, or your pet seems very distressed - contact your vet immediately!

Just like us, our pets can get sunburn too!
Always use a pet-safe sunscreen and try to avoid peak heat hours where possible.

This applies to cats as well as dogs - especially white or light coloured cats who love sunbathing in windows or outdoors.

Stay safe and keep those floofs cool!

When the temperature rises, our pets feel it too
Hot pavements, heavy coats, and warm cars can quickly become dangerous for dogs and cats during summer.
This rough guide will help you understand better.
Always check pavements with the back of your hand, keep walks to early morning or late evenings/nights, provide plenty fresh water, never leave pets in cars - even for 'just a minute'

If it's too hot for you, it's probably too hot for them too.

Your Cat's Coat :
Your cat's coat is there for a reason.
In most cases, shaving cats does not keep them cooler and can actually remove their natural protection from heat and sunburn.
Shaving can also completely ruin your cat's coat!
Regular brushing, fresh water and cool spaces are usually the best way to keep cats comfortable in summer.

☀️ HOT WEATHER GROOMING NOTICE ☀️

With temperatures rising, your dog’s comfort and safety always comes first.

During extreme hot weather, dogs may leave the salon towel dried only, with no dryers being used during heatwaves to help prevent overheating.

To make this possible, your dog’s coat MUST arrive dry to the appointment so clipping and grooming can be completed before their bath. I cannot clip WET hair.

Dogs will still receive their full groom and bath, but we’ll be allowing coats to dry more naturally where possible.

Thank you for understanding while we keep our furry clients safe, cool and comfortable 🐶✨

With the warmer weather arriving, it’s important to make sure our pets stay cool, comfortable and hydrated.

Here are a few simple ways to help keep your cats & dogs safe during hot days 🌿🧊

Remember:
🐾 Fresh water always available

☀️ SHORT ISN’T ALWAYS COOLER ☀️

One of the biggest myths in dog grooming is that shaving every dog super short automatically keeps them cooler in summer.

In reality, many coats are designed to help regulate temperature, protect the skin from UV rays, and allow airflow through the coat. ✂️🐶

That doesn’t mean dogs should never be clipped shorter — every breed, coat type, lifestyle and medical need is different.

For some dogs, regular de-shedding, brushing and coat maintenance can actually help more than taking the coat extremely short.

That’s why we always groom with the individual dog in mind, not just the weather. 💜

⚠️ Please remember:
Not all coats are the same. Double-coated breeds, spaniels, curly coats and continuously growing coats can all respond differently to clipping.

If you’re unsure what’s best for your dog this summer, we’re always happy to advise.

✿ Toxic Flowers & Plants to Pets -
With spring blooming and summer just around the corner, it's important to remember that some flowers and plants can be extremely dangerous to our pets. Even common household or garden plants may cause serious illness if chewed, eaten, or even brushed against.

Please keep an eye out for toxic plants such as lilies, foxgloves, daffodils, tulips, azaleas, chrysanthemums. Lilies are especially dangerous to cats -- even small amounts of pollen or water from the vase can be fatal.

Signs of poisoning may include :
- Vomiting or diarrhoea
-Drooling
-Lethargy
-Tremors or lack of coordination
-Changes in heart rate

If you suspect your pet has eaten or come into contact with a toxic plant, contact your vet immediately. ❤︎
