🚨 Attention 🚨

There has been a farm waste spillage on the sheep roundabout and around us. If you are planning to visit us today please be very careful the roads are really slippy. To access us via the Aldi roundabout you will have to go through the Audley Avenue industrial Estate. Please drive slowly near us as there is still some waste on the road.

Gazmo & Timmy.🐾

This handsome pair have been in recently to be castrated. Castrating male guinea pigs allows males and females to safely live together, helps reduce hormonal behaviours and prevents certain reproductive health issues later in life.

Gazmo and Timmy were closely monitored and swooned over during their stay with us.😍 We use tailored anaesthetic protocols and ensure a smooth, safe anaesthetic for all our guinea-pigs, including the ever important recovery period.🙏🏼

Both boys did brilliantly under general anaesthesia, recovered nicely and after some feeding persuasion went home chomping on some tasty veggies and toileting. And as we have previously said... nothing is more important than eating and poop!😁🙌🏼

Wishing these little gentlemen a continued speedy recovery at home!🐹✨

Happy June!🌸

Gorgeous Dexter looking like the perfect little flower.🌼😍

Little Dexter sadly had to have some of his tail amputated due to a non-healing tail tip wound. It's been quite the journey but thanks to his owner's compliance, we're finally on the road to recovery.🥳🥳

So here's our little star of the week.⭐️

Before Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month comes to an end, we’d like to introduce the wonderful nursing team here at Nova!💚🩷

Lucy is our Clinical Lead Nurse and has been working in the veterinary industry for 14 years, qualifying as an RVN 10 years ago. She has a particular passion for all things anaesthesia, rabbits, guinea pigs and Labradors!🤎

Anley, our Practice Manager, is also an RVN and has been qualified for 11 years. She has a special interest in all things exotic.🐍🦆 She still enjoys a dabble in the clinical side of practice, alongside keeping the practice running smoothly!🥰

Sophie, our Student Veterinary Nurse, has just completed her final exams and dissertation.🥳 She’ll receive her results in July and is already preparing to start an Advanced Nursing Degree in September.🤓 Her main interests are inpatient care and anaesthesia.

We may be a small team, but we’re incredibly proud of the care, dedication, and expertise our nurses bring every day.💚✨

Thank you to everyone who helps champion our nurses and for celebrating them with us!🩷🐾

We've recently had in this gorgeous pair for neutering.🐰

Female rabbits left entire can display hormonal behaviours such as nesting, territorial aggression, urine spraying, mounting, and frustration-related behaviours. Entire females are also at a very high risk of developing uterine cancer later in life.

Neutering not only helps improve health and behaviour, but also allows rabbits to enjoy safe companionship. Rabbits are highly social animals and thrive with a bonded friend.🫶🏼🥰

Bonnie and Bella had VIP treatment here at Nova.🩷 We use tailored anaesthetic protocols, carefully monitor throughout surgery, and routinely intubate our rabbits wherever possible to help protect their airway and allow us to deliver a controlled anaesthetic safely.

Good recovery is just as important as the procedure itself. They are closely monitored as they wake up, kept warm and comfortable, and we encourage eating as soon as possible, including assisted feeding where needed. Nothing is more important than eating and poop.😁🙌🏼

If you’re considering adding rabbits to your family (you should, they're wonderful), please think about neutering and bonding to give them the best quality of life possible.💕

*Update* He’s home! Thank you to everyone that shared. He strolled in during the thunderstorm but is safe and sound.

Milo has gone missing in Albrighton, but in case any of our lovely followers know of anyone in that area, we would be very grateful if you could share this. Let’s hope he comes home soon. 🐾

Please remember that Vidivet is available to all our clients prior to contacting out of hours across the weekend. VidiVet help you decide if you need to see an in-person vet. If so, when to go, whether there is anything you can do at home and what to expect at the vets if you do need to visit.🙂
