Due to unforeseen circumstances, our upcoming puppy class has been postponed slightly. The new start date is Saturday 25th April at 9:00am, running for 6 weeks.

Our courses are designed using our experience working with dogs with emotional and behavioural disorders, with the aim of preventing problems before they develop. The first few months of your puppy’s life are incredibly important, and we’re here to guide you through this crucial stage.
We use positive, reward-based training methods to help build a strong bond between you and your puppy while developing essential life skills.

What you and your puppy will learn:
• Understanding dog behaviour, communication and body language
• Problem prevention
• How to build a confident, emotionally robust puppy
• Loose lead walking and recall
• Socialisation and habituation
• Preparing for everyday life experiences
• Loose lead walking and recall
• As well as basic general obedience

We use positive, reward-based training methods to help build a strong bond between you and your puppy while developing essential life skills.

Congratulations to our newest Graduates! Foggy, Polly and Inka (and also Gwen!). ❤️
They have been a great group and we've had lots of fun! This week they were also learning to be confident around the veterinary environment. Here they are showing off their skills on the weighing scales and table, as well as being super confident with buster collars and muzzles!🐶🐾

🐾 What Happens During Our Positive Puppy Classes? 🐾

Our Positive Puppy Education & Training classes are all about setting up your puppy for success! Here’s a glimpse into what you can expect:

- Week 1 - Remote Session: We kick things off with a video call, diving into the theory behind dog behaviour and training. This helps you understand how puppies learn and what they’re trying to communicate, laying the groundwork for their emotional development. 💻

- Week 2 - 6: During our in-person classes, we start by teaching your puppy to settle calmly on a mat or blanket. This builds positive associations and helps them relax while you chat with our team about any behaviour concerns. We then move on to hands-on teaching, focusing on general obedience basics and confidence-building activities. Small class sizes mean you’ll get personalised, one-on-one support tailored to your puppy’s needs! 🐶✨

We use positive reinforcement to build a solid foundation for your puppy’s emotional well-being. Confidence-building activities are integrated throughout, ensuring your puppy grows up happy, well-rounded, and emotionally secure.

🐾 Did you know? 🐾

It's not just about teaching your dog to "sit" – it's about how they sit! A floppy sit, with a leg out to the side or sitting too far back on their spine, can sometimes signal underlying issues like hip, lower back, or cruciate problems.

A straight, tucked sit is essential for building the soft tissues around the hind limbs to support the joints properly. That’s why, in our Positive Puppy Training classes, we teach puppies to encourage a straight sit from a young age. This helps their joints stay strong as they grow!

But it’s not just about the sit – a proper down and square stand are also key, along with smooth transitions between positions. By practising correct movement patterns early on, you can help your dog avoid compensating later in life.
