As we are about to head into our 10th year of business, instead of hiding behind the dogs I thought I’d introduce myself for all of the new faces 🤗
My name is Carrie, and dogs have been my passion for as long as I can remember. Every Christmas, I’d ask Santa for a puppy, and every Christmas, I’d be thoroughly disappointed 😆 I’d make a beeline for every dog I saw in the street, I still do to be fair, but I remember just dreaming of my own dog for years. Finally, when I was 21, I finally managed to persuade my mam to make my lifelong dream a reality, and Dodger the cockapoo came along. I remember researching breeders and being on a waiting list, then the day I got the email to say his litter was born I cried my eyes out with happiness. Finally!!!! Finally I was going to be a dog mam. He is the reason Ball and Bark exists 🥰 I started my business the same month I brought him home. He’s been a role model to hundreds of dogs over the years, although sometimes definitely a bad influence!
When I moved out with my now husband Dean, a second dog was the first thing on my mind 😜 I remember seeing this gorgeous puppy sat in the front of a van at one of our local walks, and I got chatting to Emma, her owner. She introduced me to Irish Water Spaniels, and two years later I had my very own puppy from that very cute puppy sat in her van. Total fate! Otter gave me Raine, and tragically at 18 months old she suddenly passed away. She was my whole world, I was completely lost, and I still am a little bit. 10 days after she died, a puppy from Otter’s second litter was sent back to Emma, a gorgeous little 5 month old boy. I decided fostering him would help to give me a bit of a focus, and I knew straight away after meeting him that he wasn’t going anywhere. Shay is 3 now, and he is my absolute saviour, my emotional support puppy. We were meant to be together, and I’m sure Raine sent him.
Last year, we welcomed a gorgeous little girl into our lives (a real baby, not a fur baby 😆), Stevie Raine 💘 and she’s the light of my life. Happy to report she loves Dodger and Shay just as much as I do!
Before maternity leave, I always had a waiting list for dog walking, but since coming back I have a few spaces available 🤗 it’s been slow to build back up, but this is my absolute passion, and I love every minute of what I do.
We offer three group walks a day, Monday-Thursday, and cover Ouston, Urpeth, Barley Mow, Rickleton, Edmondsley, Pelaw, Pelton, Newfield, Beamish, and Tanfield. If your area isn’t on the list, just ask, because you never know!
So if you, or anyone you know, is looking for a well experienced dog walker with a lot of love to give, I’m your gal 🙋🏻♀️ thoroughly enjoying making up for my dogless years by providing top level care to my lovely gang ❣️✨🐾
