If possible please try to avoid your dogs daily walk just before their appointment or on route to their appointment.

Shower water and hairdryers will be set at cool during the hot weather.

HEAT STROKE WARNING 🥵

With the sun coming out this week and possibly reaching up to 30 degrees make sure to keep an eye on the temperature as it can be dangerous for your fur babies especially if they struggle with their breathing from being a brachycephalic dog.

An early morning walk or a late night walk is best avoiding the hottest parts of the day. ☀️

Missing a walk will not harm your dog but walking in the heat can!! ❌‼️🆘

Signs of heat stroke can including:
- Heavy panting and difficulty breathing
- Excessively drooling
- The dog appears lethargic, drowsy or uncoordinated
- Collapsed or vomiting
- abnormal gum colour - brick red gums/bruising colour
- high heart rate

Heat stroke first aid:
- move the dog to a cool shaded area
- Poor cool NOT COLD water over the dog
- allow the dog to drink small amounts of cool not cold water in small doses
- DO NOT cover your dog with wet towels as this can trap heat - wet towels can be placed under the dog

Call your vet immediately if your dog shows any signs of heatstroke🥵🆘‼️
