👀 Just LOOK at this little superstar! ❤️🐾

Meadow is doing brilliantly with her loose lead walking! 💕

As a young puppy, she and her owners are already doing a fantastic job with her training, setting her up for success by starting early and building those skills from the very beginning.

It was so lovely to receive this video update of Meadow out on a walk, putting the training we’d been practising together into action. Seeing those skills transfer into everyday life is what it’s all about! 🥰👏

Well done guys, strong foundations are one of the most important parts of training, and you are absolutely smashing it! 💪🐶

🐾 Our next mini series is coming! 🐾

Join us next week as we teach your dog a super useful behaviour - MIDDLE! 🐶

So, what is “middle”? 👇
It’s where your dog stands between your legs, facing forwards and looking out.

✨ Why teach your dog middle?

🐕 It’s a great way to get and maintain your dog’s focus.
❤️ It gives your dog a positive way to ask for your attention.
🛡️ It can provide a safe, familiar place for your dog to go if they feel worried or unsure about something.

It’s a simple behaviour, but one that can be incredibly useful in everyday life, while also building your bond and helping your dog feel confident and connected to you. 🥰

Who’s joining us next week? 🙋‍♀️🐾

🐶 “Yes!” Means You Got It Right! 🐾

One of the simplest and most useful tools in reward-based dog training is the marker word.

Words like “Yes!” or “Good!” help your dog understand exactly which behaviour earned the reward.

Think of it like this:

🐾 Dog does the behaviour → Marker → Reward

For example, your dog sits. The moment their bottom hits the floor, you say “Yes!”, then deliver the reward.

The marker acts as a clear signal:
👉 “That behaviour was correct, and your reward is coming!”

When your timing is clear and your rewards are meaningful, training becomes easier for both you and your dog. ❤️🐾

🐾 Coco’s training focus this week… learning to be calm when her best friend is busy! 🐾

Coco loves spending time with her best friend, so when her friend is busy doing her own thing, Coco naturally wants to get involved. 😆

This week, we’ve been working on calmness and patience, helping Coco understand that she doesn’t always need to encourage her friend to play with her.

Instead of Coco repeatedly trying to get her friend’s attention or bringing toys over to start an interaction, we’re teaching her that sometimes the best choice is simply to settle, relax and let her friend do her own thing.

It’s such an important life skill, especially for dogs who love company and can struggle when they’re not getting the interaction they want.

We’re looking for those little moments where Coco chooses to settle rather than pester and those are the moments worth celebrating! ❤️🐶

✨ Client Success Story ✨

A huge well done to this amazing owner for bringing these two beautiful rescues together. ❤️

She has put so much time, patience and dedication into building their skills, confidence and, most importantly, a strong relationship with each of them as individuals.

Bringing two rescues together is no small achievement, but watching the relationship they have developed with one another has been truly beautiful to see. 🐾❤️

I’m so proud of the progress they’ve made and honoured to be part of their training journey. Seeing the trust, understanding and connection between them grow is exactly why I love what I do.

Here’s to celebrating the journey, the progress and the beautiful partnership they’re continuing to build together. ✨

If you’re navigating your own training challenges, whether with one dog or multiple, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. With the right guidance, patience and consistency, incredible progress is possible. ✨

🐾 The Week That Was 🐾

This week we’ve been away, making the most of the school holidays and enjoying some lovely family time. ☀️

Of course, dogs are still very much part of life wherever we are! ❤️

Our training focus this week has been on Coco, with a mixture of management and putting our training into practice in different situations.

Alongside this, I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with some lovely people who are looking for support with their dogs, and I’m really looking forward to meeting them soon. I’ve also received some fantastic training updates, which I absolutely love seeing! 🥰

I love dogs, and for me, training is about helping them become part of everyday life whether we’re at home or away.

If you’re looking for some help with your dog, whether that’s one-to-one training or you’d like to join one of our classes, please drop us a message or give me a call. 📩🐶

I’d love to hear from you! 🐾

🐾 Client Success: Bruno on Holiday! 🌴

I absolutely love receiving these little updates from our clients and this one made me smile! 🥰

Bruno has been settling beautifully on holiday, doing something he had previously found really difficult: switching off and relaxing while his owner simply… sat still! 😄

Previously, when his owner stopped and sat down, Bruno found it difficult to understand that there was nothing else expected of him. He felt like his owner should be doing something, so switching off and settling didn’t come naturally. Seeing him now happily relaxing while his owner enjoys some downtime is such a lovely reflection of how far he’s come. ❤️

Switching off is just as important as everything else we teach our dogs. 💤🐶

Learning to settle means our dogs can relax and enjoy life without always needing something to do and being able to do this in new and exciting places is a huge win! 🙌

Well done, Bruno! ❤️ What a fantastic holiday success!

Where is the best place your dog has settled? We’d love to see your pictures, share them with us below! 📸👇

🐾 MINI SERIES | GO ROUND - FINAL INSTALLMENT! 🐾

And just like that, we’ve reached the final instalment of our Go Round mini series! 🎉

Now it’s time to put everything together and add your cue.

👉 Say your cue, “Round” and then give your hand signal.

Once your dog is confidently responding to the cue, you can start using both your verbal cue and hand signal to support them as you gradually increase the distance. 🐶💨

Remember, take it at your dog’s pace and keep those sessions fun! 💛

We’d LOVE to see how you’ve been getting on throughout the mini series! 👀

🎥 Don’t forget to share your videos with us in the comments below! We can’t wait to see your Go Rounds! 🐾❤️

🐾 The ABCs of Dog Training: Positive Reinforcement! 🐾

Want a dog who wants to listen and learn? Positive reinforcement is one of the most effective and rewarding ways to train! ❤️

Think of training as your dog’s ABCs:

🐶 A = Antecedent
What happens before the behaviour? A cue, situation, sound, or environment that sets the stage.

🐶 B = Behaviour
What does your dog actually do? Sit, come, look at you, walk nicely or perhaps jump up!

🐶 C = Consequence
What happens after the behaviour? With positive reinforcement, we reward the behaviour we want to see again using treats, praise, toys, play, or anything your dog finds rewarding.

✨ The goal?
Make good choices worthwhile! When your dog discovers that the behaviours you like lead to something wonderful, they're more likely to repeat them.

Remember: reward the behaviour you want, not just the behaviour you get. Training should be fun, clear, and rewarding for both ends of the lead! 🐕💕
