*Skin conditions*
I wanted to share something very interesting about skin issues with dogs.
Dolly's history: Dolly is now 9 and has had ongoing issues with the skin around her eyes. They became thickened and she lost all the hair around them. The increased level of skin changed the shape of her eyelids. Each morning she had ribbons of stringy brown discharged and needed her eyes carefully washed twice a day. She needed corrective surgery on both eyes (entropion correction) as her eyelashes started to irritate her eyeballs. After 2 years & many Vet trips and endless tests with my own Vets and an eye specialist they drew a blank as to what the cause was. Soon after her Op, we were going back to square one. The next step was a Dermatologist (£475 for a consultation) I was told she would probably be prescribed a combination of steroids and or autoimmune suppressants. This didn't sit well with me as she wasn't actually diagnosed with anything!!
They admitted they didn't know what was wrong with her.
As a firm believer in a natural approach for myself, my family, dogs and my horse, I wanted to try something that has significantly helped me with skin issues.
Your gut health has a massive impact on your overall health so I started her on a live yeast probiotic culture supplement. She has no known allergies or food intolerances. After 10 days her eyes are the best they have been in 2 years.
No drugs!
I wanted to share this with you all as this could really help with any dog that has skin issues - it might work it might not but after spending over £10,000 at the Vets with no change, it could be the answer for your dog.

Dolly is raw fed and for 7 years has been a very healthy dog thriving on a natural diet but something it seems was not balanced in her gut.
Long post I know but if this helps one dog then it's worth it.

Happy 9th Birthday to my lovely Dolly. We had another trip to the Eye Vet Clinic in Leominster today for a check up after her op 5 weeks ago. She's doing great! We came home for her birthday celebrations with liver cake.

Maya wears a mesh muzzle because she is obsessed with grass. Last year she inhaled a grass seed and was extremely poorly, it made it's way in to her lung and she nearly died. As you can see the determination to collect grass is still going strong 🥴
