Dogs toileting in the salon…..
Unfortunately a negative post, but sometimes it just has to be said.
We love to have the dogs running free here at Dogs at Hart, and they love it too, so many of you comment on how lovely it is to see your dogs playing when you come to collect them, and how much they look forward to coming in, however this does seem to be causing a problem mainly with the boy dogs who want to scent mark around the salon. Lots and lots of dogs come straight in and wee up the glass, the cages, the tables (which has actually caused one electric table to break) and also poo in the salon within minutes of being brought in.
Unfortunately we spend so much time each day clearing up after dogs it’s starting to affect how we work, as we get held up, causing the whole day to run late.
Because of this, from now on all dogs will be put in a crate if they’re not being bathed or groomed, which will be for a very minimal time they are with us. There will be an exception for some dogs we know never ever have accidents in the salon, and we will still let the besties out to have a little play together when we have certain dogs in that we know get on well, we don’t want to stop the fun completely!
Please do not be offended if you come to collect your dog and they’re in a crate, dogs get excited when they’re around lots of other dogs and their toileting behaviour with us is no reflection on how they behave at home.
